IMO it’s disrespectful that these analysts say this kid is better than LeBron and others when they were his age. Victor played against very weak teams in the league he was in. I just don’t get all the hype, shoots only 27% from three and he’s supposed to be this generational talent….. he will end up being a broke man’s Giannis.

The talking heads are NBA hype guys. They are doing what they need to do to get paid. He is likely to start having problems with his feet before he plays out his rookie contract.

No player came into the NBA with more hype then LeBron James it is laughable to say this kid is the most talented player in team sports at his age.

LeBron was being broadcasted on ESPN when he was a Junior in high school. The Cavs started their tanking 2 years in advance of LeBron being eligible to be drafted that is how good this kid was at age 16.

This kid dominates against men all over the world. No one before him compares to his talent. He is the epitime of what you would call a unicorn. If you put a 6' 10" power forward on him, he will be 7 inches taller. No NBA center will be able to guard him due to Victor's mobility. Just thin of Ralph Sampson with point guard skills...

Correct, if he stays healthy, and that’s a big if, he will win MVP and DPOY of the year awards throughout his career.

LeBron played against high school kids, Victor has been playing against pros and adults.

Yeah I doubt any HS player will be LeBron like anytime soon, you could tell when he was 15-16 that he could play in the league. By the time he was a senior it was like watching an NBA All-Star play.

Who knows what he will turn out to be, but if he stays healthy he will be very hard to defend and go against.

Saying he is a broke man’s Giannis because he shoots 1.5% worse than Giannis does for his career seems kind of odd though.

Giannis shows that if you are taller, more agile and athletic you can dominate in the nba still even if you can’t shoot at all and this kid is 5 inches taller than him!

The op has been smoking crack if he thinks this guy is gonna be a bust. The only concern is the kids health. If he stays healthy he has all the tools to be a dominant force in the nba. The kid is 19, he’s 7’5” and can play like a guard. When he’s 23-24 and has a man’s frame watch out.

And then to op says “he’s gonna be playing with men now” like the guy has been playing high school competition in the USA. He’s been going against men that’s not gonna be a problem

The kid has the genetics and skill set to live up to the hype, but we'll see. Could be a cross between Durant and Giannis, but too early to say. Porzingis looked like that kind of player for a bit too.

You sound like an ignorant fool. The League he's been playing in is considered one of the best in the world. Tons of future or former NBA players have played in it. It's the same league where future NBA stars like Tony Parker and Rudy Gobert played before eventually moving on to the NBA ...yet none of them produced there at anywhere near the level that VW has.

He is the real deal, like it or not. Injury is the only variable that may impede him from NBA success.

I normally share your skepticism with these players but this kid is extremely athletic for his height and he's only 19. He has a really high ceiling and floor.

I can’t disagree more. He is basically a 7’5 Anthony Davis. We’ve never seen this before. Only way he busts is if he takes the Sam Bowie or Greg Oden tour. Which I pray doesn’t happen.

Lol 😂 you must be smoking something. I mean when will people learn just because he’s 7’5’’ doesn’t mean he will be a HOF. He’s in a grown man’s league now.
He's been playing in Frances top pro league. You make it sound like he's playing in Mongolia or something. That is not a weak league.

I just hate the culture of feeling compelled to take someone at number one just because the consensus says you must. There are a lot of factors an organization must weigh for determining who they want as their franchise player. History of longtime success for 7' 4" players or somewhere around there (although not much data there) has to play into that.

A GM would lose their job not selecting this guy number 1. He is a freak right now and is only going to get better. I’m pretty sure there are plenty of pros over seas that are willing to bet this kid is not overrated.

It’s entertaining to watch the OP dig in and double down though.

Rockets just won the draft, snagging Cam Whitmore at 20?!?

I know there's some concerns about his motor but he was supposed to go as high as 4th only a month ago. Even today mock drafts had him around 10th.

This Rockets fan has a real red-rocket right about now!

LeBron weighted 240 pounds and certainly had the body to play with pros.
