IMO it’s disrespectful that these analysts say this kid is better than LeBron and others when they were his age. Victor played against very weak teams in the league he was in. I just don’t get all the hype, shoots only 27% from three and he’s supposed to be this generational talent….. he will end up being a broke man’s Giannis.
All about $. Trying to obtain fan interest in the NBA.

Honestly the only thing that's ever been standing between Wemby and superstardom is his health; he is having a generational talent type rookie season for his age. And he may stay healty as he is doing some things other really tall people in the past havn't done, starting before he got to the Spurs, such as focusing his conditioning first on flexibility and strenghening the muscles in his feet.

His ceiling is GOAT. How many times have we been able to legitimately say that based on nothing but what they did as a rookie?

This thread is fun. I hope it’s still around in a couple decades to be bumped on the day he’s inducted into the Hall of Fame.
This thread will still be around as well as the When IU Sucks thread….Forever

I admit he's way better than I thought he'd be. I didn't think he'd be a bust, but I didn't think he'd be this good this quick.

Scary that Wemby's only going to get better and stronger as the years go by. I don't watch the NBA but I keep up with this guy. The term "generatio al player" has been thrown out a lot over the years but this dude has set an almost unattainable bar. If he can stay healthy he'll be one of the best of all time. What a player.

OP might have been older.

Wemby probably would’ve been a bust in the 90s. Coach Cal would make him a bust right now by misusing his talents. He is perfectly suited for today’s NBA, whereas the big banger Zebo types aren’t. You have to have perimeter shooting and dribbling skills now for spacing

His ceiling is greatest of all time level. Obviously it will take A LOT to get there, some of which is dependent on stuff he can’t control, but at his age and as good as he is now he certainly has the potential to reach that level on the stuff he can control.
