I think Relf's quote about throwing it to Wilder says more about his lack of intelligence than his ability to make reads and throw the ball. I was there and I've watched the replay several times. I would be willing to bet was the play was designed with Wilder as the first option. Bumphis was the 2nd or 3rd option. When he broke open, Relf saw Bumphis and threw it to him.
