I think Relf's quote about throwing it to Wilder says more about his lack of intelligence than his ability to make reads and throw the ball. I was there and I've watched the replay several times. I would be willing to bet was the play was designed with Wilder as the first option. Bumphis was the 2nd or 3rd option. When he broke open, Relf saw Bumphis and threw it to him. And since Relf is dumber than a fence post, he said it as "I was trying to throw it to Wilder" instead of "the play was designed to go to O'Neal and that's where I wanted to go, but then I saw Chad wide open and went to him instead."

in person. It was awesome. Was sitting down toward that endzone and he came right toward us. Didn't realize he first got hit at the 30. Badass.

That was our day. And things like Bumphis being in the right place at the right time happen when it's your day.

Uh, what makes you think he wasn't throwing that to Wilder? Wilder was right in the path of the ball, it was just way overthrown. He said something like "but I'm glad Bumphis got in the way." That doesn't sound like someone who meant to throw it to Bumphis at all.
