Thanks but, shouldn’t this be a “Every RUN by Gavin Wimsatt”thread? 🙃
He finally kept one from RB and ran around to the other side

I think number 8 was a throwaway knowing he couldn't take a sack and with no one open just threw it out of the back of the end zone as instructed. Number 12 was definitely deflected by a defensive lineman. They showed a replay.

Thanks for posting. Didn’t realize there were that many dropped passes.
One pass that was completed that’s I wish we could do over was the short pass to Benjamin out of the back field. The pass was badly overthrown but Benjamin made an unbelievable acrobatic catch and his momentum took him to the ground. If the pass is accurate it might have went to the house.

What was noted in the radio broadcast on the replay of #6 and not noticed here is he had to throw high over the defender who was closing in and read the play. That's not a bad pass, it's a great pass and great catch, IMO.

On #7, maybe the angle is bad, but one thing have noticed is have seen other teams' receivers going up high to make nice catches on high balls. Don't see that too much with RU receivers.
0n #9, think that Jackson was open in the end zone behind the defenders (maybe it was Strong).
On #10, disagree a bit. It was not high- it was wide, and a top WR would pull that in- nothing against Washington, he is good, not great.

If you look closely, Gavin had to sail that high, or else it would have gotten batted down or deflected. See above.

Not directed at you, but the narrative that Gavin is "wildly inaccurate" is wildly inaccurate. He is far from perfect, but he is shouldering too much of the blame for good defense and the receivers/TEs not helping out.

If the receiver has to make an acrobatic maneuver to catch a pass, that pass, by definition, can't be great.

On the pass to Benjamin there was no defender in the area. Gavin needs to add touch to that throw so it gets over the DE hands and drops into the the RB. If Benjamin catches that in stride he has a chance for a TD.

We didn’t need to throw the ball. Maybe he missed seeing some open receivers but most of his passes were just fine. Oh yeah he ran for 143 and 3 TD’s and we’re going bowling.

Sometime in the not too distant future Gavin will come out with a game where he uses all his natural ability. He has made some great strides this season. He does have ability.

Not true in all cases. Did you see that he threw it over the pass rusher, who jumped 2-3' in the air to block the pass? You can't make such a statement unless the pocket is clean.

IMO, it was close enough. Benjamin did what athletic and great receivers to- make the play, something we rarely see from our WRs--Strong and Jackson have had a couple/few great catches this year.

If Benjamin were several inches taller … maybe a seasoned veteran and Gavin ‘s toss was 4 inches lower it very well could have been a score. It does’t ’t matter now but I’m certain it will be discussed in the room with the entire team going over their play. Lastly, coach Flats doing a damn good job with these O line guys.

Yeah, he had to loft the pass a bit. So, it's a good pass. My bar for "great" is higher.
