Wow - overall I thought he struggled way more while watching the game than in review. Quite a few of the incompletions were well thrown and most at least catchable.

Throw number 10 is the one to put a circle around though IMO for improvement. Now Kyle certainly could have caught that one but Gavin’s placement has to improve on those going forward. Notice it was his only close in toss of the game (and it doesn’t seem like it was scheme option one). We ran other short plays yardage wise, but they seem to be designed intentionally so that there’s more distance between Gavin and his receiver.

seems like a few throws missing... ON the 2nd throw it shows 2/4 for 9 yards on the screen

There were some drops and 2 obvious blatant Pass Interferences calls on VT that were not called.
Ian Strong mugged before the ball got there and Jackson interfered with in the Endzone. WTF

Interesting comments by Greg in yesterday's presser:

On the progress of starting qb gavin wimsatt:

"I think Gavin is improving by the day. I thought did he a great job Saturday. You know, three games into the season, he's protected the football the way we've asked him. He had some bad luck Saturday. He had three drops and two route errors, two route busts. So, if you take those five, and maybe you call four of them completions, that really changes the complexion. We didn't throw much. We didn't need to throw much. We were running effectively, and that was kind of game it was.
"Every game is different. We can throw the ball 60 times this week. You never know what it's going to take, but you do whatever it takes to win the game, or gives you the best chance to win the game

The Aaron Rodgers video of every throw as a Jet is much shorter.

2 of the 3 drops and 2 busted routes weren't his fault and that's a real mitigating factor. And I thought #9 was a nice throw and a DPI.

#8: He had a wide open receiver for a first down right in front of him. Just didn't see him.
#10 Better off tucking and running there. Even if KM doesn't drop it he gets clobbered.
#14 Pass was well behind receiver as shown in the other angle they showed in the TV broadcast. Accurate throw is an easy completion.

Not as bad as appeared live at the game. Similar to last two games...Not bad. Plenty of room for ongoing improvement.

Yeah- 3-4 drops plus I agree that pass may have been on target to Jones if he wasn't tripped/interfered(50-60 yds). And the PI that was called in endzone would have been around 30 yards rather than the 2 yd TD to Dremel.
and the other drops would have been additional 20-30 yds.
Kid could have easily been in that 170-200 yds passing again.

I love this new feature...

There was too much hesitation on 10 and it wasn’t executed well. Maybe Gavin could have run instead but he’s going to need to get more comfortable with the short range laterals and screen passes. He’s looked awkward on the few like this one that he’s attempted except for the 2-3 big yardage gains to the RBs that we’re designed plays.

That’s why it’s so great that we haven’t played Wagner yet. Hopefully he can get into a flow and have some success with screen and lateral passes in that one. We don’t need to use it Mike Leach style. It’s not replacing our RB game. Just needs to be part of the playbook as an occasional threat.
