Great, but why did our fans have to do the stupid SEC chant. Should have been doing the MSU chant!
Exactly, I hate that stupid S-E-C chant. The "SEC" isn't going to Omaha. Have some damn pride. WE did this, not the SEC.
Exactly, did any of us get that excited when LSU clinched Saturday night? didnt think so...
I thought I was the only one who felt this way about that chant...in any sport. Glad to know I'm not alone.
The S-E-C chant is one of the reasons the SEC is the dominant conference in most sports. Not the chant itself of course, but there's a pride in the SEC that the other conferences just don't have. We're the best and we know we're the best and that pushes every team in the conference to continue to get better. We're not the only school that does it. Pretty much every SEC school chants S-E-C when they win a big game against a good OOC team. There's a mystique about playing against an SEC team that gets in teams heads and makes the SEC team more confident going in and puts doubt and a little fear in the other team going into the game.

don't get me wrong I'm glad to be in the SEC because of the prestige and the financial benefits but most MSU fans, including myself, feel like we often get treated like a stepchild in our own conference so no, in our school's best athletic moments I would MUCH rather hear the MSU chant than I would the SEC chant.

Remember, most of our fans are of the Genespage mentality and they want to be well liked by fans of schools like Bama and Georgia.
Only time we should chant SEC is when we win an SEC title.
