I bet it is a $100,000.00 bump in salary with the rest to be given out on incentives. Just a guess!

I say it will be $425 thousand. Whatever it is , will be money well spent.

I dont care what it was to be honest. If it was a $1,000,000 im good with it. The man is personally responsible for about 1/2 of our players over the next few years so at most any price its a deal.

I have racked my brain trying to come up with a like figure in UK football history and danged if I can come up with anyone comparable.

Another 5 years of Vince Marrow in Ohio and we wont get the kids that OSU wants and offers, but we damn sure will get our fair share of the ones that MSU, Michigan, PSU and a few others want.

I hope they structured his contact more like a head coach - that is a 4, 5, 6 or 7 year deal with built in incremental raises, and incentives. Usually assistant coaches don't get those kind of deals but he's in a different category IMO and they know it and he knows it - so does his agent.

I noticed he is listed as one of the top 25 recruiters in the nation on one list. A recruiter for that Knoxville football factory was #1, and Tee Martin at USCw was included, can you imagine what Marrow could do with their facilities, tradition, talent bases (TU the nation, actually both of them, see TU's recruiting budget, traditionally three or more times UK's), and football first attitudes?

Worked out well, and even gave us some good ammo for recruits, IMO, but none of it would have probably happened if he hadn't been given the same raise and promotion he was guaranteed in his original contract whether he signed one three star or a multitude of four stars.

Keeps him just below coordinator pay yet he is getting paid in a big way to do what he is best at. He may not be worth a crap as a coach (who knows at this point since he has not had any legit SEC talent at his position to coach) but recruiting alone is worth every penny.

that's great. I was hoping for a multi-year contract. He now makes almost as much as the coordinators, but is still more valuable then both of them together IMO.
