It's a dck move doing this so late in the year, so he clearly worked with UL to make this the most difficult change possible for UK. That being said, he's got no business being on the field anyway. Def not his strong suit.
We have under-utilized EVERY talented tight end we've had here. How many 4 star TEs did we land only to have them not get touches? That was HIS position and we sucked at utilizing and developing them. How many were drafted?
Where did we succeed? RB. Who recruited those successful RBs to UK? Was it Marrow? Thought it was always Gran that got them here. Maybe someone knows for sure.
Had no idea how bad the split must've been with Marrow and Stoops, but I'm gonna guess that the A&M stuff was the real breaking point. Stoops talking about it, but clearly Marrow (and others) didn't want to go to A&M. I bet that's when the talks with UL got serious.
I never thought the Marrow to UL as a coach talk was serious. I was right about the coach part. Man was I wrong though about even the possibility. Sometimes it's easy to underestimate the whoredom of college football coaching. That's ironically what ultimately led to the transfer portal that many hate.
It's a good move for Vince, so I understand why he took it. If you're gonna be a *****, why not for the most money with the least stress?
I wonder if Stoops saw this coming when the A&M talk was ongoing? Lol. Given our consistent inability to see how to manage clock at the end of the 2nd quarter, I doubt it. This could be a great thing, or a bad thing, but it also could be BOTH.
