The VolleyCards improved to 25-0 last night with 25-18 straight set triplicate wins over Notre Dame.
Anna DeBeer had 12 kills and five blocks to lead the No. 1-ranked University of Louisville.
The Cardinals stay perfect at 25-0 and 15-0 in the ACC and recorded their 19th sweep of the season. Louisville hit .206 with 42 kills, five aces and 14 blocks. Anna Stevenson was good for eight kills and eight blocks, adding a service ace. Claire "In the air" Chaussee connected for eight kills and a block, hitting .368. Senior Tori Dilfer finiahed with 34 assists, an ace and two blocks. Freshman libero Elena Scott had 12 digs and three aces.
Dani got a chance to go deep in the rotation in the third set, after the starters went on a impressive 15-0 run after the half. Up 21-9, Louisville emptied the bench and then held off an 11-4 run by the Irish for the 25-18 win.
The Irish missed Charley Niego, no doubt, who was out with the flu. we'll see if she makes a difference when the Irish come to Louisville to close out the regular season on November 26th.
The Cards host Duke next on Friday at the LNFCU.
Taking care of business on a road trip. No drama, no questioning of coaching decisions or player performances. No end-of-game folding or controversy. Just doing the work expected of the #1 team in the nation.
