The worst part is he is due 25 mil per year over the next 4 years. It's never a good idea to do a 10 year contract, especially with a 30 year old.

When the reds signed him to that 10 year deal it was worth it because he was one of the best players in baseball. We all know when you hit your mid 30s your skills decline. Same went for Albert pujlos and the same will go for trout. Yeah he’s the best player in baseball but he’s making 439 million. By the time he hits his mid 39s his skills will rapidly decline and they will be stuck with him till he’s 40. They probably should of traded him for a big ransom, because he’s in his late 20s and over the next few years his skills will start to decline
