A handful of people will yell the phrase out of sarcastic ridicule. A much larger group of people in the stadium might join in just for the hell of it.

Think about "Maroon - White". What's cool about that? Besides the fact that EVERYBODY in the stadium does it, nothing. Nothing at all cool about yelling out colors. Vrooom Maroon *could* work out the same way.

I'm not excited about Vroom Maroon. I neither hate it nor am a fan of it. But I do think it is no more or less catchy than "Maroon-White". But if everybody in the stadium started yelling it, it would remain at least as popular as "Maroon-White". Maybe even more so for its uniqueness. ESPN would certainly catch on to it if the crowd got into it. Vroom-Maroon would be another silly thing for the sportscenter guys to talk about much like they did about "the school u_p n_o_r_t_h" in their Egg Bowl coverage this year and "yaw yaw" when Orgeron was still coaching the Rebels.

that we've done the "maroon - white" thing for as long as I can remember. There's nothing cool about it, but it's what we do. It's identifiable (at least among SEC circles) with MSU. Boring and unoriginal? Definitely. But, it's ours.

"Vroom Maroon" sucks for two reasons: 1) it's dumb like maroon/white, but way more, and 2) it's awkward and forced. I wish I could see the video so I really understand the context this phrase was used. I could live with it if it was used infrequently the right context (although I can't think of what that would be). Hopefully, we are just blowing this way out of proportion. But, if anyone has any intention on the being an MSU-thing akin to "Roll Tide" or "Hotty Toddy" or "War Eagle", this thing needs to die quickly. Hell, if we want to jump on that bandwagon now, we might as well adopt some sort of bulldog hand signal like all the Texas schools do.

since we know Byrne's people read this board, the more posts against this campaign the better.

Graduated from State 2004. again, "quit" being an expression.

We really have no way of knowing what the real deal is without actually seeing this presentation for ourselves. I'm blindly basing my pissed off rants about this solely of one poster's interpretation of how the meeting went down. I think I'm just reverting back to the "why us?" attitude that most MSU fans have - for understandable reasons.

The rational side of me says that there is absolutely no way an idea that bad could happen None. Not with Byrne at the helm anyhow.

marketinggroup isbeing paid to come up with a new slogan, they could do much better! I could even throw out some ideas, but I'll let someone elsego first just to avoid all of the heckling that would follow.
