Yea late in the game he ducted his head and drove into traffic and put up. a really bad shot and didn’t get a call and told my wife we have seen that before haven’t we
Yeah but somehow he was able to have his best game against UK last year.
Probably because Pope can't coach defense. We built this team around defense and still stink at it.

DJ shot 29% from 3pt land at Ky...an d followed that up with 30% last year...not off to a good start this year.

Wagner has a quick first step and hustles. That’s about it. It looks like he’s gonna kill it the way he hustles around and has that killer look but none of it translates to the killer he was rated as.
He’ll be a really good senior for Arkansas though. We couldn’t even come close to that pre NIL with Calipari. I always said when most were saying they have to go, no they didn’t. And we’ve got lots of guys that aren’t rich and have no degree and flamed out that should have stayed and made a legacy and education. The idea they all needed to go was total BS. Calipari pushed them out to recruit the next crop and didn’t give a damn if it was right for them or not. Guys like Wagner left UK and flamed out to make room. Every time I look at him I think about it and it pisses me off.

To be fair I think more would have stayed at UK if NIL had been in play then.
because they make more money by staying in college now than to risk a second round pick. The one issue I had with Calipari being thrown out was he was about to have the NIL which would keep the 2nd rounders in college, which as you see, Richmond, Wagner, and Knox all staying for a better pay check. I knew it was a gamble because he would now retain those guys.
This is why I will not root for him at all at Arkansas. I want him to flame out and so should every UK fan. It’s about our legacy with him, he wins big there and it hurts our programs history. For one he won’t be seen as UK’s guy in history. For two, when you watch Arkansas you’re watching what would be UK’s team today. Calipari tried to stay at UK but Mitch made the move when he had the chance. I’m nervous about it until I see him retire. Hopefully that’s soon and he only has UK when all is said and done. Flaming out at Arkansas he’ll never return there. He’ll only be around here. And we need to keep our history as our own. Pitino already screwed that up enough. I want our image intact and I want to quit sharing it.
flaming out at Arkansas just means he basically retired when he left here and he won’t be remembered there and probably won’t want to be remembered there. Winning there will be a punch to the gut. He’ll be remembered there and it would have been our hardware. Can’t imagine rooting for that. Don’t know what some are thinking.
NIL is definitely the main reason . Marquis Teague and Doron Lamb said they would have stayed longer with NIL
Because UK fans put up with that **** for way, way too long. I have mentioned this before, but I believe deep down Cal always had a slight dislike of UK because of what we did to him in the 1990's. People hold grudges, we all saw Cal continuously do that when he was here. I believe that in his agreement with Arkansas he was told that he had to retain players.
Nil was a thing since 2021z….so why did Livingston, Edwards , Bradshaw etc bail like the usual?

But if they stayed and didn’t develop, like Wagner, it would have made it infinitely more difficult to recruit that position and everyone would have claimed that he couldn’t develop players. Sometimes you have to accept the limits of a players talent That’s not always apparent in high school. Maybe Calipari could foresee this and pushed them out. Also, as has been said, NIL has changed the metrics for the player and more would have stayed. Without a big leap though we would be bitching about overpaying a sub. Sound familiar?
Yeah, I was about to say the same thing. He's really not a good shooter, certainly not from 3pt range. He shoots bricks from out there, has poor form, even when he's wide open. He does his best scoring on short jumpers and driving into lane. He's also not a tremendous facilitator. He's fairly strong, he doesn't turn it over much and those are his 2 greatest strengths. But shooting and scoring are not strengths. He's streaky, so he'll have a good game here and there.
Up until last year NIL was small amount and not millions. Even in Cals last year lottery picks like Reed and Dillingham made only a few hundred grand. Use your brain before you post next time. Only in the last two years and really this year are people in the millions consistently which is way better than second round NBA money. Common sense…..

So the consensus is Reed didn't make million in his 1 year at UK in 2023?....I'd argue he made at least 6 figures. (I'm pretty sure I use my brain but even now these NIL values are rumored by not actual)
Saul Smith could shoot by senior year. Might be an insult to Saul.
And he seemed like he tried everything not to come back if I’m remembering right.
