You stopped liking the guy because of what he did to the animal who slaughtered his family? Made me like him more.
Sounded like Rick.
But regarding Glenn - I watched the replay when they went into the alley. Before they went on top of the dumpster they basically unloaded their guns to whatever Zombie they could shoot. Guns went :click click" meaning empty.
So, where did Nicolas get the bullet for his gun?
No, I wasn't clear. I felt bad that the animal got away with it. I was sad that Eastman was dying, then I saw the grave marker and realized he got to kill the SOB and was dying in peace.
Glock I think.
Anyhow, was this a director mess-up? Or was it a hidden clue as to what happened? Maybe the whole thing was just a hallucination by Nicolas.

I thought this was the best written episode in a long time. If you watch it again, every single scene is loaded with subtext, and additionally... many, many things are set up.
It's very easy to write over the top, but it's very hard to write subtle scenes that are both psychological, dense, and emotional. Not to mention, this episode was basically carried by just two people, a feat in itself.
Lennie James is one of the best actors in the biz, and it's not just in the moments of strife that really demonstrate his talent... it's in the small fluctuations of emotions that even the most skilled actors can barely pull off. Watch for it. It's remarkable. A successful actor once told me to not just study an actor in a scene in which they are overly dynamic and emotional... look for their skill in how they handle the quiet moments, the thoughtful moments. This episode was a master class in that.
But this episode was a brilliant way to shake up the emotional arc of the series. Rick's about to reach the tipping point of his primal/animalistic nature... and you need this backstory of Morgan to pull it back and provide counterpoint. This difference of philosophy between Rick and Morgan is going to define the season... and to a large extent, it already kind of defines the comics. Is surviving at all costs worth sacrificing our humanity? Without this episode, we're left wondering why the hell wouldn't Morgan kill those people!!! And that's almost reflective of what the show is trying to get across... that our very own bloodlust and protection of these 'characters' as an audience wants to see them survive at all costs. But, Morgan's backstory delicately places a wrench in that thought process, and for the rest of the season, his philosophy will be pulling on our innate good nature.
The other very big scene was in how Eastman mentioned the difference in criminality. There are people that became killers in this world as a result of everything that happened (like the Wolves, the Governor, even Terminus)... but psychopaths are a different breed. We haven't run into the type that is a Crighton Dallas Wilton yet. But it's a matter of time... and it'll likely be the greatest adversary they face. Plot's about to get good. But this episode was needed to get there.

The interesting thing about how this episode fits into the unfolding of the season is it was written and filmed out of order, according to the Talking Dead. I think Lennon said they filmed it after episode 7.

Past. Toward the end of the episode you see him starting to walk the railroad tracks and read the Terminus sign, so that was what Morgan was doing in season 4 through early season 5.
That would make sense, wouldn't it? And also - someone mentioned - how did Nicholas shoot himself with a gun he had already supposedly emptied into the walkers?

I don't know much about akido, but from the point of the show, it comes from a world that no longer exists. Morgan and Eastman could believe that all life is precious, but they both were pretty sheltered from the worst of the worst from their fellow humans after sh*t went down. Morgan is just now getting a glimpse of this depravity we see from the Wolves in Alexandria.
It will be interesting to see how Morgan's and Rick's philosophies collide.
Yeah, like when Rick comes back with the RV, and sticks that SIG up Morgan's a$$. Morgan is going for strike two with Wolfie. Ten bucks says Rick wastes Wolfie in front of Morgan.
I think that may have been to keep other citizens out. If I recall not much there to stop Wolfie from smashing some glass to escape (assuming he could untie himself first).
