It's an industry where you can't get on a studio lot without express permission from someone on the lot first. Where many A list celebs live in gated compounds with roving security (once drove up the wrong road, towards Travolta's house, was met with armed guards). Where union rally cries are heard from actors and producers who pay non-union PA's peanuts to work 10-12 hour days (if they're lucky it's that little).

It's about as hypocritical a town as you can get.
