Old Dominion was referred to as our best non-conference win in a very condescending way. Florida probably got in with their win over Michigan State, right?

Final RPI:
27 Old Dominion
29 Michigan State

I dont see how Florida gets in over us, but what I really don't understand is how they got a 10 seed? That would make it seem that they were not one of the last 4 in? And if that is so, is Utah St. and Minni resume that much better than ours? I dont understand how the committee felt it was so wrong to put in us and Florida?

Edited to add: Ohio State took Minni to the woodshed today, and we took Kentucky to the wire and should have won, it just goes to show that the decision was already made before hand.</p> Also Minni beat Purdue in the tourney and gets a quality win and big time credit for that, which is obviously horse ****, since Purdue is obviously hot garbage now.

The committee had their bracket done Thursday or Friday and did not consider games played after that. If we would have gotten in, we would have knocked out Minnesota or Utah State.

Yes, good teams are important. But I believe good NAMES are also important. Plug it into computers all you want, but when you are looking at two teams on paper and one of them beat Michigan State and the other beat Old Dominion, the one that beat Michigan State is going to win every time.

For more proof of that, Michigan State parlayed their 29 RPI into a 5 seed. Old Dominion took their 27 and turned it into an 11 seed,

Am I the only person that thinks it is stupid for the selections have to be in by 5 or 6 on Sunday without a day to digest the Conference Tourneys, I dont see a reason not to push the selection back to Monday, or force all conference championships to be held on Saturday.

Hell, back in 1996, the SEC final was actually AFTER the selection committe had finalized their brackets (but before they were announced on TV). All because of TV money. As for the selections being in by 5 or 6 on Sunday, they were 95% done by sometime on Saturday. It's almost impossible to play your way into the tournament on conference tournament weekend. That's why Florida was a 10 seed and we're in the NIT. Because that decision was made before we ever tipped off this weekend.

I am pretty sure it was you. I will double check the scores tomorrow but I am 99.9% certain you are the winner.

This is why you handle business during the season and quit having to win the SEC Tournament to get in the dance. As soon as Stansbury and everyone else learns this the better off we are.

I think that's the one thing both extremes and the middle can all agree upon. Particularly this year, we had no business being in the position we were in.

Wall had a great game. Cousins and Stewart both spent a lot of time on the bench.

I enjoyed it. Thanks for putting it together.
