***Riley's message to the team after a fifth loss was that the staff was going to coach football and the team was going to practice football on Monday, and "anyone that wants to do that will be there."

Any insiders know if there are issues going on with players and staff? I found this quote to be most provocative.

The coaches need to step up and put them on the bench then. Insert freshman if you have to. If what you say is true...and then don't do anything about it the culture will never change.

I agree totally. If there are attitude issues, sit them. With this loss today, it is time to play for the future. I'm sure Riley has tried to get all to buy in, but it appears a certain percentage has not. So play for the future.

As much as it pains me to say this.......I agree sit the cancer and move on.....After he made that comment, I suspected it very well might be an attitude issue. Having dealt with this very same issue, it's a difficult bridge to cross when you're tying to build something and you take over an organization that has a bad culture and employees that feed that bad culture.. You must make hard decisions to "right your ship" and if that means terminating employees or in this case benching the players with poor attitudes, then that's what you do......

I'm neither a Reilly supporter or Hater, but he is in charge and he is the one that MUST make the hard decisions..........Time will tell.......difficult situation to be i.

I'm confused. Some players aren't giving 100%? I saw CC give a defender a little more than 100% on one play, that was called back.

If you're coach Riley, you don't say that unless there's a morale / loyalty issue. And that's why firing a coach sucks. And that's why you have to let this staff get their own players, committed to them and their system, to see what they can do.

So if there is a fire do you put it out or let the place burn down instead? You cant tell me that Riley is stupid enough to play rift players and if he is then he shouldn't be coaching anywhere..

Totally agree. I can understand keeping more talented players on the field up until this point, but if they aren't buying in, put someone on the field that is.

I'm pretty sure Riley isn't the one causing the rift, if there is one. I agree that he must get his players for this offense to be very successful. Just think about it....We are somewhat OK on offense right now, not great, but good enough to win games......I think the thing that will make or break Riley is how long can he let the defense slide......It's just a tough situation to be in for him.....he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't...

That's a ******** explanation. Details please.

Really? Do you see a team that has improved this year? Good coaches would have a team playing better now than the start of the year. That has not happened and they actually look worse. Which is what I think he pretty much said.

You are playing for nothing but next year now, coaches have nothing to lose. We should see the absolute best players they can put on the field from here on out.

Are you serious and not trolling? Did you watch the game last week? You're asking for improvement, last week was it. Problem is, we haven't sustained it.

Have you seen Minnesota play this year? NW who was skunked past two weeks, skunked them. Do I need to actually post a bunch of stats about dropped passes, incomplete passes, qb throwing off back foot, rushing yards per carry, missed tackles, penalties, boneheaded special teams plays, horrible play calls, no offensive strategy, no defensive or offensive scheme against opponents strengths and weaknesses?

Do you want to see this team play against Ohio State, Michigan, Alabama, Clemson, Memphis, Houston, Temple?

O
I don't agree with that, they are trying hard they are just that incompetent.
On defense I think what makes them look like they are not trying is bankers incompetent scheme. They play way to far off receivers and are way too soft. It's like stay close to the receiver and hope the qb misses the throw. Get in the receivers face and contest every throw. I refuse to believe we have the worst defensive backs in the country. What we do have is the worst defensive coordinator in the country.

I didn't make the original commentary. Let me know if you are too stupid to follow.

So, why do you support the coaching staff. What improvements have you seen over these past 8 games? What have you seen to show you that we will be competing for the B1G championship next year?
