I think it would be very interesting for a sociological expert to do some extensive research of this phenomenon....

People love their school so much they subscribe to a site for info
Same people get attached to said website and its writer/publisher
Same people get offended if other people challenge the integrity of said writer/publisher
Same people ultimately develop more loyalty to writer/publisher than they have for the school they used to love
Same people want writer/publisher validated more than they want school to succeed

I just don't get it.

Ridiculous is what it is... Stockholm Syndrome. Why some people keep giving these fools money, I will never know.

There is one MSU site out there where MSU's best interest comes first and the truth is told without sugarcoat so long as it doesn't harm MSU. I'll let people figure out on their own which one I'm talking about...

I agree. We have some damn morons that believe in the people running the sites more than MSU. Even if its to our detriment.

No it doesn't. And we're not turning this thread into a political argument.

Also sounds a lot like republicans and democrats.

Democrats believe their way is going to help the country. Republicans believe their way is going to help the country. They both believe their ways are going to help, they're just in completely opposite directions.

We have people that obviously would rather support a freaking website & the people that run them than the University they love. Some of the **** Wardlaw spewed tonight in his chat tonight f'n blows my mind. This guy is more interested in taking down DH than he is in looking out for the better interests of OUR University. And we have people that love OUR school that pay him to spew the vitriol he spews.

It's undamnbelieveable.

Well, I wouldn't have any idea what he said in chat or what he posts on his board since I don't subscribe to either of those sites.

Well generally speaking

I like most people on these sites, scout, rivals, sixpack etc we come to understand the person we are dealing with. I will be in the minority on this board, but I do appreciate the news and opinions of both DS and Steve. Neither has steered me in the wrong direction. With all that being said, I support my team 1st and everyone else second. All the MSU fan sites serve their particular purposes. Before I was a member of Gene's page i was critical on this board towards the swan just like everyone else.

I agree with the original poster. Most of the website "superfans" around here would rather go to bat for a particular person than support our team. It's crazy but true sometimes.

I saw what he said in his chat. What a piece of ****. Trying to figure out how to contact him. The only link under "Contact Us" at BDJ is for subscription cancellation. LOL

I suppose I'll use that.

So what did he say?

He has basically turned into a Byron De'Vinner mouthpiece.

Because of a personal grudge against a website where Herring used to post - http://mississippistate.247sports.com/

Wardlaw is more interested in a website war than MSU. In fact, he would damage MSU to further his own name.

Everyone reading this should cancel their subscription to BDJ immediately.

I hear Wardlaw is probably moving to South Carolina soon due to a job opportunity for his wife. All else being equal (which its not), why subscribe to a MSU site belonging to a guy who lives out of state?

WTH is wardlaw anyway?

A guy that doesn't know his *** from a hole in the wall- writes a bunch of **** on a website- and charges people to read it...a little site called Bulldog Junction.

I paid him $200 for a lifetime membership a few years ago for a bunch of ****. Then he basically changed to a new platform- charges $30 for what I paid $200 for and then he makes up rumors to sell himself and try to gain more members. He is even willing to throw his own school under the bus for $30. Stricklin should blackball him and rosebowl.

That's a little misleading about Steve. His point was that Byron De'Vinner was not the cause of all of this. Had Herring and Mirando not been involved, De'Vinner would have had nothing to say about MSU.

I did get the sense that he was taking up for De'Vinner for some reason, but his main point was still valid.

I am not a member of Warlaw's site, so I have no idea about him, except hearsay.

GP is trying to ride this as long as they can, to the detriment of MSU. Period.

He's been pimping DeVinner since last April. They had a special interview with this guy. The guy is a 7v7 coach, the football version of a AAU coach. Do we really want to believe these guys are pure as the driven snow?

He get's on his chat knowing that everythign he says will be parroted by the Spirit crowd 5 minutes later. When this turns out to be very minor and Redmond plays what's he going to day? He's intentionally making a mountain out of a mole hill to make 247's site look bad. It's pathetic and all MSU fans should drop their subscription and put Jortfro out of business for good.

And as for Wardlaw, well I've heard he has some more limited time only lifetime subscriptions coming up!

I never said they were pure. As a matter of fact, all I pointed out was the fact that Steve's point was valid.

As far as De'Vinner goes, he's a con man. It looks as if he conned Gene and Steve. But being gullible is a far sight from trying to hurt MSU.

Paul "pimps" his site, too. They are all in business, what else are they supposed to do?

I take it you are a member, so aren't you supporting them, too?

Well it seems as if Wardlaw handled it for me. I can't sign in at all. I'm still going to take advantage of the cancel subscription, though.

Regardless... none of these INTERNET JOURNALISTS should be offering opinions or speculation on this deal because they are recruiting analysts... not investigative journalists. Their readers take them as being 100% in the know.

And I still find it hard to believe DeVinner had absolutely nothing to do with any of this.

Doubling and Tripling down on the words of a Conman ain't being gullible.

There is an agenda behind it.

I am a member of 247 and Paul does promote his site but he certainly does not 'pimp' anything. He plays it straight, even to the point of being a little boring. But I'd rather pay for that, and well written articles, than gossip just to keep the clicks coming.

De'Vinner is guilty as hell!

But so are Mirando and Herring. I certainly don't think MSU would fire Mirando and disassociate itself from Herring if they did not think they did something wrong.

MSU is not going to get in trouble for 7v7 coach unless a booster and/or coach get involved with him and do something that the NCAA says is illegal.

I think De'Vinner is the biggest (literally and figuratively) scumbag in this whole mess. But if our guys had ignored him and not tried to make a reputation for themselves, De'Vinner would have had nothing to tell Forde, H2H or anyone else.

De'Vinner is a proven liar. On recruiting even. The only way he "wouldn't have a story to tell Forde" would be if we had just stopped recruiting Memphis because all the bigtime kids there are associated with him. His story gets more and more ridiculous. Already got the owner of Anthony's calling bs on his involvement there, and there has been ZERO CONFIRMATION to anything he is saying from any source other than De'Vinner himself.

De'Vinner submitted a list of recruiting allegations against Riverdale's football program in 2009, but Bernard Childress, executive director of the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association, told The Clarion-Ledger on Wednesday those allegations were not factual.
"He sent a lot of information to us in writing and we questioned the administration and coaches at the school," Childress said. "As a result we found the school to be not guilty of any wrongdoing."

Funny how Marcello buries this tidbit on page 3 after regurgitating everything else this fool says as the gospel truth. http://www.clarionledger.com/articl...iple-NCAA-rules?odyssey=tab|topnews|text|Home

I'm not saying we didn't do anything wrong. Obviously we did. I'm just saying that NOTHING De'Vinner is saying can be taken as truth without confirmation from elsewhere. Dude is a proven liar.

Of course he's a liar. That's not even debatable. I'm certainly not trying to take up for the slimy bastard.

And yes, Mirando and Herring are wrong, too.

But the actions of the compliance department and athletic department seem like some kind of confirmation for some of it. I'm sure he (De'Vinner) has a little truth thrown in there somewhere or Mirando and Herring would still be around.

I can only hope that they (MSU) are not so stupid as to fire Mirando and dissociate Herring on just De'Vinner's word with no corroboration at all. If that is the case, I see no hope for us.

As far as Marcello, I don't think he is very bright.

Sounds like to me this is an opportunity for DS to take over these kind of sites and services. Keep it separate fr six pack of course, but I think the knowledge and passion is here to make it successful.

THANK YOU. How this is so hard to comprehend for some folks is beyond belief. If you own or work for a freaking Mississippi State FAN SITE, then DO WHAT IS IN THE BEST INTEREST OF MISSISSIPPI STATE UNIVERSITY. These jackasses (Steve & Wardlaw) are doing the EXACT OPPOSITE. And we have people that continue to support these ******** to the detriment of the University they supposedly love. For what???
