Russell has horrible vision

To be fair, I think he said he had a chance as a free agent.

He's missed I don't know how many open receivers and RB's out of the backfield today and thrown to receivers that are covered. he's done that his whole career and that will not translate very well for Russell to be on any NFL team.

I tend to agree. He doesn't see what he needs to see and doesn't see it soon enough to really be successful at this level much less the NFL.

10000000000% agree. In a perfect system he gets away with a lot of his shortcomings but I hate how in today's NCAA and even more-so SEC that if you don't make the NFL you're terrible. What's wrong with saying a guy was a great college QB? No need to go the extra mile and say, "He's so good he'll make a practice squad!"

He absolutely has the NFL arm, but QB is so much more than that in the NFL. Its really more than that even in college.

If you just saw his first two years, you'd think high draft pick. I've seen his last two years and I don't say that.

He could maybe get drafted late with some good combines. He does have a lot of stats.

What is an "NFL arm" though? Granted, these are horrible examples of successful QB's but they have started their fair share of games, but Pennington and Ponder can't/couldn't throw the ball more than 20 yards with the wind behind them. TR can lob the ball 50+ yards sometimes but so could LSU's Russell. I don't know Russell's background but maybe if he had starter earlier (middle school) as QB or had a high school coach who knew more about the QB game he would have been an AJ McCarron-type. At 23 he's still just too raw to go any further. I wish him the world, but that's the truth. He'll make a helluva coach.

I remember he was projected a 5th round pick going into his junior year. He had/has NFL potential, but I think that achillies drained a lot more than physical ability.
