Sure, 1 SEC championship and 2 Regional appearancesin 5 years at Kentucky sounded good back in 2008, but did that little stat ever actually make you feel like Cohen was a true winner and could actually return our program to its former glory? I mean after 3 years you have to ask yourself has anything positive actually come from his time here? Also, how much longer do we really need to give him? I get the feeling the rest of his time here is going to becroomesque in the sense thatwe are some how going to somehow scrap our way into a regional this year and next year the wheels will finally fall off this sorry excuse for a baseball program and Cohen will be fired shortly after our last regular season game. What do yall think?

He was a very good assistant under Pat MacMahon at Florida. He succeeded at Northwestern State. He even built the Kentucky program into an SEC champion. Yet, now with tons of facilities and a strong fan base, it's like he's forgotten every rule of baseball. He's even saying his version of Polk's "That's Baseball".

Just about anybody looked head and shoulders above Polk at the time.The "progress" the team has made this year, I was expecting at least that much last year. This is looking a lot like Croom II and I think the mistake will be to keep him. I just don't have any faith in him and his ability to take us to the level this program should reach. He seems to be lacking a lot of maturity and I can't imagine the team having a lot of respect for him
We are greatly improved than the last two years, and we lost our best hitter last year. Our pitching is not great, but it's a lot better than it has been. We are competitive in most games and our record is improved a lot over last year. We need another recruiting class and these freshman to get stronger and more experienced. It's not like we getting blown out every game last two years, just can't seem fear over hump.

This team has improved over last year, and I think will improve next year. We still have a shot at a regional this year, which is much more than many thought we would do. Some of you act like we haven't gotten any better since the day he stepped on campus which is just ignorant
Cohen and staff are better recruiters than Polk and Raffo were during Polk II especially during their last few years. However, I'm still not totally sold on the quality of coaching we have to develop players though we do have a few players who have significantly improved (Reed and Parks to name a couple). I'm still thinking our pitching has been helped much more by improved talent and experience and the dead bats than by Thompson. But above all of that to me are the in-game decisions that I can't follow such as certain lineups, baserunning calls, pitching changes etc. Sometimes I'm just left scratching my head on what the thought process is on some of the decisions we make.
Cohen seems to be at a crossroads to me and I don`t thinkthere is any argument by anyone thathe gets another year. If we have to put the program under a magnifying glass next year to find improvement(as we are now) then it`s decision time.
We are getting a little better just because Cohen's a good recruiter and brought in good players. But he's proving that he's not a good gameday coach and we aren't maximizing our potential.

I think we are getting the most out of what these players can do. And that's part of the problem.
I also have to laugh at everyone that is saying the only reason that we are better is because we are recruiting better and our pitchers are more expereinced. Isn't that what is supposed to happen? Is that a bad thing? Heck, Joe Torre was an average manager until he got to the Yankees.
Is this really where you thought we would be this far into Cohen`s tenure ? Was our talent level that much worse here than what he inherited at Ky? How did he get it done there ?
The year that we are having now is what I was hoping last year would be like. So, we're about a year off of my personal expectations.
Having actually seen Cohen's UK teams during the first or second year he was there- Yes. I seriously and honestly believe we were worse off than UK. Reason I say that is because our pitching staff was completely decimated by the time Cohen got here. We are just now where we at least have a respectable- except for yesterday- bullpen and we still are about two quality starters short.
Cohen got it done at UK because he was able to bring in some good JUCO players like Sawyer Carroll, Ryan Strieby, and etc. and he also started to recruit well there- Alex Meyer was a Cohen recruit that is projected as a first round pick and another Brandon Webb decommitted after Cohen left, and he is in pro baseball now.

I am done defending Cohen and his antics. Bottom line is that after 3 years, most, including myself, expect to see better improvements on the field.
I know that Todd is going to step in and repeat that we don't have the talent to be good for the 20th time but that falls on Cohen too. We don't have power, he should have recruited some power guys. We don't have pitching, he should have recruited more pitchers.
He has run out of rope and will have next season. I have been a Cohen fan and defended him since he got here. I think he is a great assistant and very smart when it comes to baseball. It think that this year, Cohen has beat himself in numerous games trying to be too damn smart. Some of his decisions just baffle anyone who follows baseball, you don't have to be in the 10% to know that.
Have we improved this year? Yes, we have gone from smelling like **** to just kind of smelling like ****. We are still not winning games that we should win. In year 3, we should at least win the games that we are supposed to win.
Even Cohen's rant last night makes me scratch my head. He doesn't see base running mistakes? How bout sliding past the bag and getting tagged out. He doesn't see fielding mistakes? How many passed balls did we have yesterday? Did they result in a run or two?
Can't blame any of this **** on Polk now. We are only marginally (and I'm being generous) better than we were when Cohen arrived. Oh, and his players despise him. Great formula for success.
Series and he and his team decided to have a scrotum suckfest on the good ship lolipop instead of playing baseball..this weekend needs immediate correction or he needs to go...he's simply getting paid too much for the fans to have to endure this ********
