Few coaches actually vote in the coach's poll. They usually assign the sports info director, an assistant coach, or even the AD to do that. I doubt very seriously that Mullen voted in the coach's poll at all.

What State fan found that interesting? It may just be the last two games, but Marcello has gotten on my nerves since he started. </p>

I have not taken offense to anything Marcello has written. I also though VZ did a good job. If you want a fan or writer with maroon colored glasses to read Jean-Jean the Dancin' Machine.....

The **** most users on here speculate about is much worse than anything Marcello could write. I guess it's ok, if Six-Pack says it?

it's the damn coaches poll. The coaches are who are supposed to vote. Marcello doesn't know that someone votes proxy for Dan Mullen if that is indeed the case. Dan Mullen's name is listed as a voter. It doesn't say Dan Mullen OR Mississippi State SID. Stick to calculating attendance.
The USA TODAY Board of Coaches is made up of 59 head coaches at Division
I-A institutions. All are members of the American Football Coaches Association.
The board for the 2010 season: Robb Akey, Idaho; David Bailiff, Rice;

if you are going to post about something Mullen's not done, it should at least be factual.

There was an article about this when Steve Spurrier gave MSU a top 25 vote the week of the MSU-SC game. The article went on to explore how many head coaches actually cast their own votes. Very, very few of them do. That task is almost always delegated to someone else.

Assuming Mullen cast this vote is like assuming that every voting-age member of the public in MS voted the way that MS's electoral college members voted in the presidential election.

It appears to me that Marcello asked Mullen if UGA is a top 25 team already knowing how he (or his proxy) voted. Seems like he wanted to catch Mullen in a lie just so he could blog about it. Of course, this is all conjecture on my part, but that's how I took it.

I don't want a fan for a beatwriter, but I don't want a jerk either.

You have no evidence. If his name is on the ballot there is nothing wrong with marcello assuming he filled it out

Whatever. I find it sort of funny he called him on the coach speak. He even makes an excuse for Mullen if that makes you people feel any better. Besides, it's just a stupid blog, and it's not like Richt is pinning a "Mullen didn't vote you in the top 25" post it in the locker room. If he did, he'd have to post one below it saying "I didn't either."

I swear, I thought the silver lining about Veazey leaving was that you people would stop with the whining. Guess not.

He name isn't on the ballot. You won't find a list anywhere showing who "Dan Mullen" voted for.

All we know is that Mullen is a member of the voting body in the poll and that most poll members delegate the actual voting to someone else. Those are the facts.

And nobody else at MSU has a vote do any vote coming from MSU is considered his. Is it that hard for you to understand?

from his twitter:
Dan Mullen believes Georgia is a top 25 team, yet he didn't vote for them in coaches poll this week. Great pick up by @GentryEstes247.

I think he took it to literal when Mullen said he thought they were a Top-25 team. Being a Top-25 team and being worthy of a Top-25 ranking is two different things in my opinion. Sounded like he just needing something to fill up space.

IT says he voted. Whether he personally filled out the ballot himself or not (and absent any concrete evidence to the contrary, he did), it's still HIS vote.

....the vote cast by a source that nobody has confirmed.

Damn, few coaches cast these votes. And we've got Mullen saying something contrary to the vote allocated to him. Pretty easy to conclude he didn't vote.

If your name is on something at work that someone else also worked on or completely did, who is responsible for it? Who will your boss want to talk to if he doesn't like it
