Wouldn't have been too bad if he'd left out all the cornpone crap. He seemed to have his facts straight, but could have left off the stereotypical Southern-speak. Washington's not exactly the centroid of sophistication ....

Mark Levin calls it The Washington Compost for a reason. Perhaps the only line in the whole thing that was written perfectly was the last.

"Neely Tucker is a third generation Bulldawg and has the liver to prove it."

Neely Tucker grew up in Starkville and graduated from SA. He's definitely a State fan.

The history is what it is. I love the article. If the references to Braveheart don't set your *** on fire, I don't know what will.

I clicked on his profile. He writes about Walking Dead for them. I like him.

Cornpone aside, I liked it.
Especially the recollection of the 1980 game. I remember listening to Jack's call, the pause, then the roar.
It's good to be a bulldog

I'm really getting sick of hearing about history. The only teams that will be on the field today are the 2014 MSU Bulldogs and the 2014 UA Crimson Tide. What's happened 100+ years prior to this has NO bearing. Bama teams win because they have good players and good coaches, not because of history. Ask Mike Dubose and Mike Shula how much history helped them at Alabama. State teams of the past that haven't won have not done so because we lacked talent and we lacked coaching. That is NOT the case today.

For what it's worth, I like it. The history makes what's happening all the more compelling. And I love this part: "We play the Dark Lords of Mordor, also known as the Alabama Crimson Tide, in their pit of hellfire and brimstone, Tuscaloosa."
