Trump, Cruz, Rubio with the last spot up for grab.
Sounds like he's borrowing a play from the Trump playbook.I didn't see any of the debate last night, but I take it that NY isn't impressed with Cruz.

It actually may be a genius move. Think about it...Trump alienated all Mexicans, Muslims, POW's, and a bunch of other groups and he's leading. Maybe the whole key to drawing GOP-type voters is to show how good you are at pissing people off..And some of the posters on here have been claiming what a genius Cruz is. [laughing] I don't think it's intelligent to piss off the city with the most voters in the US, nearly 8.5 million.
You're kidding me. Seems to me the whole thing with the captured sailors went smoothly...our sailors ended up in Iranian waters and were released the next day. Not sure what anyone can ***** about other than a faulty boat engine. This is simply artificial outrage.I watched some and was absolutely bored. Same old crap and one can only take "blame Obama and Hillary for everything" for so long and this has been going on too long.
But the one new thing and what I wasn't expecting was blaming Obama for the release of the sailors from Iran the other day. WTF? Our sailors screwed up and got captured. Based on the improved relations with Iran, they were released within a day or so. No public posturing and no egg on anyone's face and these numbnuts that other numbnuts worship can find fault in Obama in this? And then of course somehow loop Hillary into it? I just don't get this latest fake outrage.
I didn't watch but I'm sure i know the highlights:Not a single thread about it.
I didn't see it either. Something about Trump and Cruz no longer a 'bromance', but that's all I know.I didn't watch but I'm sure i know the highlights:
Trump crowed about his poll numbers
Everyone hated on Obama
Everyone hated on Hillary
Everyone claimed the country is going to hell unless one of them is elected
The crowd cheered
Amiright?
The two interchanges between those two idiots were won big time by Trump. I honestly believe Cruz will lose poll numbers on it. First one was the birther issue where Cruz made up a bunch of crap on elgiibility and somehow tried to convince people Trump may not be elgible because Trump's mom was born in Scotland. Absolutely stupid. Then the who NY value thing where Cruz is attempting to pander to right wing nuts by saying New Yorkers are lowlifes and that also backfired among most.I didn't see it either. Something about Trump and Cruz no longer a 'bromance', but that's all I know.
You fail to appreciate the stupidity of the people who will be voting in the GOP primaries. We are living in the age where facts are irrelevant in the GOP. Whoever gets the loudest cheers wins. Not who is the most factual and whoever makes the most sense. The two interchanges between those two idiots were won big time by Trump. I honestly believe Cruz will lose poll numbers on it. What an embarrassing group of people running for the most important office in the world. And that comment is not exclusive to just the GOP but Hillary and Bernie are not nearly as embarrassing then these whackos.
Oh......I appreciate the stupidity of these voters. I assure you. I talk about it on here all the time. You fail to appreciate the stupidity of the people who will be voting in the GOP primaries. This group of GOP frontrunners is the weakest I can remember in a long time. By far. Romney was way better, as was McCain. Hell I even would take Dub over Trump and Cruz and that is scary. You fail to appreciate the stupidity of the people who will be voting in the GOP primaries. And the debates aren't really revealing anything of value. It's nothing more than keeping your face in the news. Primaries can't get here fast enough.Oh......I appreciate the stupidity of these voters. I assure you. I talk about it on here all the time.
What is just amazing, we are having debates in this country which represents our great democracy and this party is trying to win points on stupid topics such as the birther issue and "liberal NY values". And the GOP base just laps it up like the dumb lap dogs that they are.

I caught the second half of the debate, but I set up the replay to record. Rubio and Cruz were going at each other pretty hard over the tax issue. I was glad that someone (Rubio) finally pointed out that Cruz "abolishing the IRS" is still going to have to have an agency that is responsible for collecting taxes. Rubio also invoked the Reagan, calling Cruz's tax plan a VAT and lauding Reagan's analysis of VATs. Christie remained in the mix, if only by inserting himself when not questioned. I heard Kasich speak on 2 or 3 issues. As usual, I liked what he said, but he seemed like an aside more than an actual line - hey, let's cut to the most logical guy in the room for a point of view. Carson didn't say much, and he came across to me as a candidate who just wasn't feeling it any more. I won't be surprised if he bows out with a week of the NH primary. Maybe I'm reading him wrong, and he's just tired. At this point I think Bush is playing a losing hand. He had an opportunity to try to get in front of the Trump mess, and he passed it up. He'll hang in because he has enough money to hang around a little while, but he's a goner. The two interchanges between those two idiots were won big time by Trump. Kasich was my choice from the beginning, but his campaign flatlined from the beginning. GOP voters want flashy and loud.I had it on while I was help my kids with homework, and then as I cleaned up the kitchen. Pretty tame debate overall from what I heard of it. Cruz came off as smug as usual, but Trump was much more subdued. Still a lot of how "fabulous" he will be as President, but not near as obnoxious as usual. Kasich sounded great but unfortunately he won't get any traction. Rubio comes across the best overall on stage, neither smug (Cruz), arrogant (Trump), whimpy (Bush), flighty (Carson).
At this point, I think Trump wins Iowa, with Cruz taking second. NH is a harder pick. I think we see someone more mainstream win that one - maybe Kasich (this is probably just me hoping for sanity) or Rubio or possibly Christie. That opens it up, and I think we'll see the field drop to around 6 at most. I think SC could easily go to Trump - and then we have a real problem on our hands - unless you want Trump and his gold-plated toupee getting the nomination.
I didn't watch the undercard.
There's still time. Lots and lots of time and probably 40-50 more of these GOP debates.I'd like to see Kasich get some form of bump, but I suspect it's going to take a major endorsement to have that happen. Hell, this thing could still be wide open after SC, but I suspect Trump will still be insurmountable.![]()

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that Cruz would NEVER win NY.
Every time I think about it, I get sick to my stomach, as it keeps reinforcing my thoughts of Idiocracy.
Kasich is calm and reasoned and logical ... Trump and Cruz are ... well, Trump and Cruz. People talk a lot about how disingenuous Hiliary is, and that's exactly how I feel every time I see/hear Cruz talk. (I totally agree with that assessment of Hilary, just thought I should throw that out there) There is nothing about him that comes across as natural and sincere. It always looks to me that he's just a bad actor trying to play the role of the president in a B movie.
You're right about that. But Cruz is such a phony trying to be this every day, cowboy boot-wearing, hunting vest wearing , middle American. He went to Princeton and Harvard. He started his legal career clerking in DC. His wife works for Goldmann Sachs. He's the ultimate insider. He's a phony. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that Cruz would NEVER win NY.
The Dems will never win Texas but do you see them insulting Texans?
Yes...... they do it all the time just like you and many other far left libs on this board have done on many occasions.

Kasich in the VP slot?
My apologies, let me correct my statement: do you see any democratic presidential candidates insulting Texans? The answer is, no. They aren't that stupid.
They would if it played to their base.
Impressive list.
So, you admit that the Democrats (as a whole) don't get excited about their candidates that insult large numbers of people? The Republicans do that.
I seem to recall Hillary outright reveling at the notion of making enemies of Republicans. Great way to get the country working together, right? So, you admit that the Democrats (as a whole) don't get excited about their candidates that insult large numbers of people? The Republicans do that.

Indeed a hell of an impressive list when compared to the three put forward by the enemyImpressive list.
