could you confusing him with another towel-waving bagman named Frank Wilson that is currently on the staff at LSU and was on Mullen's first staff for like 2 weeks before joining I think Lane Kiffin and Orgeron at UT? One of my favorite Mullen stories so far was his dealing of Wilson. There was rumor that Mullen got wind that Wilson was going to make a move to UT and he was handling a lot of our recruiting at the time. Supposedly, Mullen went in his office and and made him take off his State clothes and walk out of the Ath Dept half naked. I have no proof it's true, but it makes for one helluva story.

No it's Trooper Taylor and it was 2003-2004 range so either Jackie's last year or Croom's first year. I think he was here briefly and then bolted for UT.

Nope- and it wouldn't have made sense as a hire since we were on probation and we were all about being clean and out-recruiting Troy at that time.

I hope we never hire him. I think he is a sleazebag who is unprofessional and can't coach worth a damn. I just don't like him, and I don't think I would like him if he coached for us.

There was a Ronald Taylor who was TE coach for Rockey Felker from 86-90. Not the same guy as Trooper. Trooper never waved the towel for us.
