I started watching the game on the local channel that's carrying the tournament but I switched over to WatchESPN because the broadcast here is on a subchannel and is not in HD.

Couldn't help but notice that the WatchESPN streaming is about a minute behind the broadcast. But the picture is a lot better. Don't have the AppleTV setup but I probably should get one for occasions like this.

I have DirecTV and I use the Watch ESPN app on my iPad. It has nothing to do with your television provider. Zilch.

I don't know. I use Comcast for my Internet and it is one of the approved ISPs. When you first launch the app, it should provide you with a list of all the approved ISPs. If yours is listed, just select it and login.

Wrong...WatchESPN is based on your TV provider.

[h=3]What networks are available thru WatchESPN?[/h] Subscribers with an ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN Goal Line or ESPN Buzzer Beater TV subscription from a participating TV service provider will have access to watch a live stream of the same network online and via the WatchESPN app in addition to content on ESPN3, subject to certain rights and blackout restrictions. Subscribers of non-participating TV providers will have access solely online at WatchESPN.com or on WatchESPN on the XBox with a XBox LIVE Gold membership to ESPN3 programming as long as they subscribe to a participating high speed internet service provider.
[h=3]How can I get access to all ESPN networks available on WatchESPN?[/h] Online registration through your TV service provider is required in order to access content on all networks. Non-participating TV provider customers have access to ESPN3 programming online only at WatchESPN.com or on WatchESPN on the XBox with a XBox LIVE Gold membership, as long as they subscribe to a participating high speed internet service provider. With AT&T as your ISP you can go to WatchESPN website and watch games listed as on the ESPN3 network (this is the only one of the networks that is based on your ISP).

You can't watch games listed as on any of the other ESPN (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, etc) networks. Your cable/satellite provider has to provide access to WatchESPN for those.

You appear to be correct. All the time I was thinking Comcast internet is required for a Comcast customer. Apparently you have to be a Xfinity subscriber and it doesn't matter who your ISP is (unless Xfinity includes internet ... I don't really know since I use my son's sign in info). My apologies.

That's incorrect as far as I know.

WatchESPN encompasses ESPN3 now. But if State played Alabama in football on the 7 PM Primetime game and it's not an 'ESPN3' broadcast, you would not be able to watch it on WatchESPN unless you have a valid TV subscription and your TV provider is allowed to use WatchESPN.

As of this morning, AT&T isn't listed as a provider on ESPN3. I can't find any mention of negotiations on Google....anyone know what's up with that?

Yeah, false alarm. The program in question required the TV providers list. Tripped up both me and a coworker. Thanks.
