Watching all this college basketball recently got me thinking....

when was the last time MSU had a basketball player that was talented AND had a high basketball IQ? We have always had 2 or 3 guys in our starting lineup every year that had talent, but none of them ever seemed to have a high basketball IQ. Since I've been an MSU fan, we've never had someone that consistently stays in the flow of the game, leads on the court, and can be counted on to make big plays. Just doesn't seem like we are ever able to get and develop someone that has the full package.

Stewart was both talented and had a high bball IQ. He wasnt elite talented though, so if you dismiss him because of that, cool.
Jarvis was both talented and had a high bball IQ. He grew up around basketball with his dad being a coach, displayed a great understanding of the game in his 4 years at MSU, and was clearly an elite college talent as evidenced by his record holding and awards from coaches and media...oh and getting drafted.

Jamont had a high bball IQ but i think he just ignored it. I really believe he had a great understanding of the game but chose to not listen to himself.
