championship when I saw New Site's bench. Don't think I've ever seen an all-white public school basketball team. Interesting.

Then you're obviously not from NE mississippi

Its been like that for years. I'm not so sure that they are racist, but black kids know that don't want to go to school there. There are plenty of public schools in that area that allows them to choose something other than new site.

No, I'm from SW Mississippi. Down here, the whites in the Tylertown school district have been able to go to Salem, a rural school in Walthall County. But I think the state is cracking down on that.

I played against both in high school. New Site is as country as it can get.

I'm from the Holly Springs area, we were considered the "white" school even with a 50-50 color ratio.

Prentiss County is 85% white and Tishomingo is 94%. Not much color in that corner of the state.

I work in both counties and there is a lot folks in that neck of the woods that must be bird lovers.** They have 40 or 50 roosters chained to little rooster houses.

Obviously you haven't watched "independent" school ball lately either. Starkville Academy boys were majority black this year. I didn't see many teams in that league that didn't have one or two black players. It's a common thing in independent school basketball these days.
