with two teams that started the year out kind of rough, righted the ship and one won the BIG after coming of probation and the other beat the conference champion soundly on their home turf. Both have young teams. Nebraska has recruited against both and from all accounts is still in the mix particularly against USC for a couple players. My question is why would you want to go to a school that has not been relevant since before you were born instead of playing for a team that during your college career could play for both conference and possibly National title?

Be much more competitive now on January 2 instead of September 3 with a different QB.

You obviously didn't watch that game. USC was outmatched badly everywhere on the field. Wouldn't be 51-3, but it would be another *** whipping.

I think bama still beats USC but more like the 24-10 (similar to Washington). That said - USC was a better team than Washington at the end of 2016

It would be a much closer game, but yeah USC would still lose. I don't see how anyone in all of CFB this year beats Alabama though. The other 3 teams in the CFB playoff are just filler.

Right now USC would beat Utah and Stanford by 20+ points. They still wouldn't beat Alabama, but would probably play them closer than Washington did. Not a Trojan fan. but they've gotten better and better as the season's gone on.

Their QB change reversed their season. Just look at USC's receivers in this game. They are all big-time athletes that can make plays. They just needed someone that could throw them the ball.

USC could definitely challenge Alabama in a game right now. Just remember what Wisconsin did to us a few years back after losing to us in the regular season...

And this isn't the same Trojan team that was playing them in Sept. Open eyes.Eek

I was watching the Rose Bowl too, and then a halftime show broke out. Who's playing again?

A little sad listening to Keith Jackson. Not what he used to be.

Ya, he is like my father just not as sharp as he used to be a little slow in the thought process.
But has great memory of the past.

While true, he did make a few relevant statements about the type of players you need and the current state of the game. We are neither big nor fast at the moment (thank you Bo Pelini), and no surprise that they rip him out of there right as he riffs on the oversaturation of the game.

Just got away with blatant pass interference and get an interception to boot. That's a big swing

Why wouldnt you count it? And how manynhave they played in?
Usc is one of the programs that has done the least with the most since carrol left. Only teams worse in that dept are notre dame and texas, and nd is close.

So was mine. It makes no sense why you wouldnt include the 2006 game.
My usc underacheives comment wasnt directed at you it was a blanket statement.

Mainly because it was a national title game in the Rose Bowl against a non B1G team like our 2002 Rose bowl game against Miami Fl, and the game was started at night instead of the normal 2:00 pm Kickoff in Pasadena

If Nebraska didn't lose this season, they would be undefeated.

Wasn't really buying the "We'd beat Penn State with a healthy Tommy" line a month ago, and sure not buying it now.

Unless maybe Healthy Tommy was also going to bring along his friends Lavonte, Nndamukong, Prince, etc.
