Not the outcome we hoped for, but what they accomplished was still great. Losing four senior starters that accounted for so much of the team’s offense last year and they narrowly miss a trip to the final four for the third straight year. Glad Vic is our coach and their is plenty more good days coming. Thank you to this team for continuing to push our program to new heights.

I think Vic will bring State it's first national championship, maybe a year or two from now.

It really was a great year. Next year will be by far the most talented team Vic has ever put on the court, and could be the year everything lines up. We will lack experience, so we’ll see how fast they can grow up.

Prior to this season many stated that this would be a “down year” due to the loss of the four starters that we were so important for the prior two years. However, I think as time passes many people will see this team was actually overachieving when everything is considered. While we had some players return with playing experience we also had to heavily rely on two players brand new to the program. Then we had to endure a season ending injury to one of our best players and most likely our most mentally strong player. We won an outright SEC Title and SEC Tournament Title. It’s very telling of your program when 33-3 and two trophies are somewhat disappointing. I’m very proud of the team and look forward to next season.

They absolutely overachieved. Vic will get him one. I just hope it’s at Mississippi State University.

I admit I wasn’t much of a women’s BB fan before Vic. But I have really enjoyed watching these girls represent my Alma Mater. Very proud.

I agree, and doubted we would be where we are this year, especially when Bibby went down. I'm very happy with their season. Looking forward to next year and beyond!

I hope you're right. I feel like there will be a bit of a learning curve for the incoming freshman. Our ooc schedule should be just as loaded as the past 2 years so I can see a couple of loses early on. South carolina will be favored to win the sec being that they have more of their core returning and just signed the country's top class.

I agree. Rickea Jackson is a for real. An athletic, big, strong, fast perimeter player, can create her own shot, rebound, & play D.

Per ESPN

USJN-July 2018: Athletic, versatile perimeter prospect drains jumpers to the arc; cleans the glass and attacks coast-to-coast in transition game; manufactures shots, rises on jumper in mid-range game with body control to rim; a shot maker that yields results; coveted prospect in the class of 2019. (Olson)

LBI Winter Showcase-December 2017: Athletic perimeter performer with size, versatility and offensive fire power; quick 1st-step attack creates, attacks rim and makes plays in traffic; rises on jumper to the arc; rebounds and finishes plays coast-to-coast; continues as an elite prospect in the 2019 class. (Olson)

Michigan vs. Ohio Border Battle-July 2017: Explosively athletic perimeter prospect continues to impress; attacks rim in transition; quick-leaper plays near the rim, active on glass; defends in extended pressure; stretches the defense to the arc; mismatch nightmare; among the elite prospects in the class of 2019. (Olson)

Boo Williams Invitational-April 2017: Athletic perimeter prospect with versatility; mismatch creator with length, wingspan; competes on glass; handles and attacks in transition; attacks in the key, draws contact, finds the charity stripe; developing perimeter game consistency is key to next level impact. (Olson)

Nike Nationals-July 2016: Athletic, versatile perimeter performer with superior length in the front court; triple-threat attack drives, draws contact, finds the charity stripe; emerging perimeter game consistency is key to next level impact; an elite prospect with off-the-charts potential

Losing Bibby was the nail in the coffin. Amazing that it took this long for it to happen.

Great season; great work by Vic and the team. Going to miss Big T next season, but I'm confident Vic will find a way to reload.

Only bright side of losing Bibby was developing AEH.

We might have the 2 best 3 point shooters in the conference next year.

Helped Scott’s development a lot too. Bibby’s injury may have been a blessing in disguise for next year assuming she comes back healthy. We’ll have three proven players next year instead of just the one.

Overall, they did a little better than I thought they would. I figured going in this would be a Sweet 16 team. Instead, they were a #1 seed and made the Elite 8. Howard made a huge difference for this team. Another great season.

Getting to go play in Italy this summer for the World University Games should help them a lot. Hopefully, Bibby will be able to come back as good as she was before. Big key will be Myah Taylor stepping up at PG.

I think we may be 2 years away from another big run. Losing McCowan and Howard is a huge blow. Losing those 2 together is probably a bigger blow than losing Vivians.

Bibby could have propelled this team to the national championship game again. She could shoot, defend, and had height.

Hunter could shoot the three but could not defend at all nor finish around the basket.

Danberry could defend but was short and was a very subpar jump shooter. Quick as a cat though.

The missing piece was a tall player that could defend and hit open jump shots. That missing piece was Chloe Bibby.

Well defending is what cost us this past weekend. 80+ points should be enough to win if you can slow down your opponent at all.

Vic made a telling comment after the game. He said by the time players are seniors some have a way of tuning you out, i.e. not improving as much as they should. I think Vic is looking forward to teaching the new talent coming in to play defense and learn his system. He will probably have some frustrating days ahead. I think if you were to inject Vic with truth serum he was a bit disappointed in our defensive play this year, especially against good teams.

I know they talked about in some of our games that Vic said this was the most talented team and the most frustrating team he had coached. I think you hit the nail on the head. I know all season we seemed to struggle to have that killer fire that you need to stomp on the throat of teams. We always had those let down stretches where we would play poorly and let people back into the games. We were just more talented that most so we got away with it in all but 3 games.
