I've been telling all of you ever since he took over for Byrne that we have hired an outstanding AD. I hated to see Byrne go, but Stricklin is not really a step down in any way. And maybe even a step up since he probably has a little more unified support than Byrne did.

before and will again ... Strick sure better have a replacement commited and on the hook or we could be 'screwed royally.'

When you list all the basketball advantages that MSU has ... they are astounding amongst the rest of the SEC and include:

* Second smallest arena out of 14

* Smallest budget of 14

* Smallest BB budget of 14

* Number 13 of 14 in attendance

* Outstanding fan support ... crap, scratch that one

* Great student support ... scratch another one
* SEC IS a basketball league ... err no, scratch another one
* Oh yeah, one 'final four' in our entire history and we just fired the guy that recruited those players

Auburn may have a bigger building- but they damn sure arent putting people in it- and I wont even talk about the Sad Pad....LSU's basketball attendance is sporadic as well...

But it's not like we are 10K seats smaller- there is not that much difference in most of the lower half arenas

Budget? It's twice what Butler's is...it's 2 and 3 times bigger than most teams we play OOC

Basketball, with having only 5 starters, shows year after year that budgets and arenas matter very little- but coaching staffs do.

Duke's arena holds 6K. It's all about coaching and recruiting.

Maybe coach you can learn something from him. I supported him for the reasons you saw in this press conference. Now said:

that history shows that if we get back to the dance, we will HAVE to finish in the top 4 or 5 in the SEC.

Exactly, which of the 4 SEC teams that are in the NCAA have, smaller budget, arena, or fan support?
