And I know we have done the worst of MSU. But what about the worst, all time, in the professional big 3 sports. (I'm sure it has also been done before, but I'm bored)

Give me the 3 biggest busts in the NFL, NBA, MLB. I don't want the people that were drafted last and got cut, that is supposed to happen. But the worst players that teams have ever wanted to or needed to depend on for production, and they just plain sucked.

Don't really watch MLB that much but for the NFL and NBA I will give it a shot.

1. Ryan Leaf - three letters....P.O.S.
2. Jamarcus Russell - four letters....S.H.I.T.
3. Shawn Bradley-7'6 of useless Mormon.
4. Sam Bowie - Portland could have had Michael Jordan instead.
5.Ron Dayne - averaged about 6 inches a carry in the NFL

hard to say who is an MLB bust based on the draft. I would loved to have seen Daryl Strawberry not get all 17ed up. Could have gone down as one of the best ever. Still had almost 400 HR's and was NL rookie of the year, so not a total bust, just sad.

My first 2 picks are because those are the teams I pull for.

I'd throw KiJana Carter, Andre Ware, David Klingler, Akili Smith, and Tony Mandarich in the mix.

Except the players weren't busts, rather the worst players at each position who for some reason managed to have at least somewhat long careers.

Carter and Mandarich had injuries, so they dont count. There was nothing they could do about that. I never thought Ware, Smith,or Klinger would do anything, dont know why "experts" thought they would.

While he was highly overrated coming out of school, he was actually a serviceable lineman for 8 years or so. At least that's how I remember it.

Draft picks are just expected to have a good chance of being busts.

Going by contracts, off the top of my head i'll say Mike Hampton (once missed time with a pulled titty, no joke), Darren Dreifort, and Kenshin Kawakami.

SI can get F'd for pulling that crap of naming him #1 of all time.
****, he played for 10 seasons, averaged 11ppg, and 7.5rpg. Oh, and 1.8 blocks each game. He averaged 27minutes played per game too.

He was injured for a good bit of3.5 seasons thru his career, but he was a major contributor during his decade of play.

When i see those numbers from a center, i just dont think bust, much less biggest bust of all time. Yes yes yes, Michael Jordan was drafted after him. Nobody back in 1984 could have ever predicted that Jordan would do all that he did though. With the massive benefit of hindsight, Jordan would have been a better choice at #2 in the draft. ****, hewould have been a better #1 pick even...but nobody is saying Hakeem was a bust, even in a minor way. Obviously Hakeem wasnt, but if its just based on the fact that Jordan was drafted after Bowie and ended up being the best player even, then Hakeem was also a bust. There, its been said. Hakeem was a bust.

Th eone that I recall most is the gambling QB from Ohio State. Can't recall his name but had severe gambling problems and his sister was an actress with Alan Thick on a sitcom.
