Lebby earned every single bit of grief and criticism he got after the Texas game. The decision making on 4th down, the constant snapping of the ball with 20 seconds left on the playclock, etc was so foolish. He literally gave away a guaranteed win. Which in the end, may end up costing us a bowl game.
But. Saturday went a long way to righting the ship. It was as must win a game as a coach can have. Credit to him for getting it done. It was clear to me that if he went 0-8 this year, he deserved to end should be fired. But I also thought 1-7 should earn him the benefit of the doubt. He got there. And there is zero doubt he should continue on in 2026. If he can get at least one more, this year, I think that even makes the Texas game totallly forgivable and people will be as optimistic as they can be going forward. But he certainly deserves credit for keeping this thing together after the Florida and Texas debacles.
