We were up 35. I'll give them a pass for losing focus. We will see if we've improved on Saturday. Is sword coming back Saturday?

Damn. 26 turnovers against MVSU? That's not good. And I guess Ndoye is the John Riek II, minus the bad knees. Only 3 minutes and 2 fouls. As much as I like Rick Ray and hope he succeeds, I'm growing less and less optimistic.

Definitely lost focus after being up big. Before that, impressed with Travis Daniels. He has good size and ball skills. Houston also looks good. Ndoye and Black are raw. Dunlap needs to slow down. Annoying that a bunch of the turnovers were by the vets after they went back in…Bloodman, Rock, Thomas. None of them seemed to understand how to slow it down and possess the ball to calm things down.

Ndoye had more than 2 mins and he only had 2 fouls.

I think some of you would rather ray fail than succeed

I read the live stats wrong. They didn't show minutes and I read points as minutes. He had 17 minutes and 2 fouls. Much better than I originally thought. I'm a huge Rick Ray fan and I thought he did a good job his first season and in the preseason last year. But we regressed in the conference season last year. We need to see some real tangible improvement this year.

I agree with that. I think we will too. We're missing 2 ball handlers right now so that's some of the TO issues. I think we'll be much improved. NCAA? No! Nit? Possibly

Damn even I'll watch the game before calling someone John Riek II. You just read the stats?

Watched the game ...

We're missing 2 ball handlers right now so that's some of the TO issues. I think we'll be much improved.

Some observations ...

Good ...

Ray seems to have the ability to get the team motivated. We started well. Daniels hit a 3, followed by Fred with a couple of 3s. Defense and offense were aggressive. Free Throw shooting looks to be improved... even with several freshmen playing and missing two projected starters, we are shooting 74% form the line. Thomas looks confident from beyond the arc... he went 3 of 4 last night and leads the team with 5 of 9 (56%) Rebounding looked improved. We got the chance to get a lot of minutes for several new players. We made several impressive 'runs' last night. We jumped out to a 8-2 lead at the start ... at 17:37 lead 11-8 ... at 14:35 lead 25-8 ... went from a 3 point lead to a 17 point lead in 3 minutes. When we got to a 33 pt lead in the second half, Ray substituted at will.

Bad ...

Yes, we are missing Ready and that has hampered the guard play BUT while we look improved in the front court, we don't have another capable point besides Ready. Yes, we played a lot of new players BUT we had 26 TOs

Completely wrong. Bloodman will stay at the point until I.J. is ready to come back. Sword will most likely be the backup point guard instead of Thomas when he returns.

If you remember Swords first year, you should cringe at this statement

We got some guys that are gonna be fun to watch, compared to the last few seasons. We might even surprise folks in a couple of games.

But it is evident we are still in search of that elusive Sweet 16 team.**
