Wow, ok, you need to take a step back, and think this out. Exactly how would collusion from American's part look? Who would approach who initially? How would the Russians need the collusion help?

The Russians would approach Flynn/Carter. Say, hey Mr. suspicious looking American, we think we can help Trump win the election by saying bad things about Hillary.

Flynn and or Carter will say either "Don't involve me in this", "How dare you interfere in our election", "Ok", or "Ok how can I help?"

Only the last option, "Ok how can I help?", is collusion. The Russians didn't need any American's help. If they did get help, it would be an egghead hacker, not a Trump official. Collusion from the campaign is almost an impossibility from the getgo.

Even if Carter/Flynn ran it up the flagpole, "Hey Don the man, those crazy Russians said they're going to hack Hillary's emails"... it isn't collusion.

There are over 150 agents actively working the investigation, Comey wasn't one of them. He just sat atop atop of investigations reviewing info as it was fed upwards. Hopefully the onus will shift to follow the facts and nail the real culprits.

Keep living in a fantasy world. Even if they haven't I'm not sure how the FBI could investigate any possible collusion between the Russians and the Trump campaign yet exclude Trump.

Please! The entire issue we were discussing was whether Trump was under investigation. And he IS. To what extent he knew anything? I don't know, nor do I assume to know. But if he has people working for his campaign discussing Russian strategy to influence a US Presidential election? The man either knew about it, or he is a VERY POOR leader of men. Collusion? Don't know, don't care. But I want to know EVERYTHING about what the Russians did, and who was used, and why.

To me, it's not as much about Trump (I do dislike the man, and the administration) as it is about protecting our nation from Putin's sinister strategic "social-cyber influence" attacks in the future.

There is no preventing it first of all. What they did was completely legal. There is no way to stop the troll farms. Hacking the emails? Ok, fair enough, that is illegal.

Why do you rant on this issue but refuse to even comment on the reality that it isn't a new thing. Do you believe they have never done this in the past? It's been going on since the early days after the Soviet revolution. Why you refuse to allow the full context truly baffles me.

Social media hasn't had the reach it has now in the past (a very powerful arm of this strategy, right?). The media has been neutralized for most of the voting public now (also a new development, at least to this extent we currently are seeing). And Putin's resources and ability to use those resources have hit new highs that were not capable of being reached in the past. China worried me before. After Crimea, Putin is most concerning to me. And the more I see the "fake news" - "rigged election" narrative being played (which is a part of Putin's strategy to suppress dissent in his own nation), my concern has grown substantially.

I always thought the US was protected by being far more advanced in tech security (I don't think that currently), I always felt that the media provided a protections against false news stories and social media influence (I'm quickly losing faith in that), and I always believed that a dictator like Putin would be kept at a safe distance by our leaders (left or right). These things have changed for me, and so my concern has changed accordingly.

Make sense?

Oh absolutely not. Russia sucks and needs to be dealt with. But don't say because noone should interfere in another's elections, we do it all the time. It's because we're the big dog and you don't screw with us.

The media, since the FBI will neither confirm nor deny who is under investigation, needs to shut the Trump stuff down.

Negan would've taken care of this day 1.

They have said numerous times the Trump campaign is under investigation.

I used to think you were as intelligent as the average high school kid; by this thread you have obviously changed my opinion.

Interesting that there is not quotations on that piece by the NYT... because HE NEVER SAID IT.

They already have the goods on Flynn. Flynn was part of the Trump campaign. I really can't believe you are even attempting this argument.
