Don’t know about Cohen, but when we hired Salmon, we could have had Benko. Don’t know why we went with Salmon. I hear it’s for fund-raising ability, and that’s probably it, but I disagreed with that approach.

What am I missing with Benko? I'm asking that earnestly. I went and looked at his hires and I mean... Clay Helton has had two 6-win seasons in the Sun Belt. This season should end up better since they're 6-3, but I mean... it's not like he's setting the world on fire and is on the short list for a bunch of Power 4 jobs.

It's been 4 years and he hasn't been picked as an AD by any other Power 4 school. He got hired by Auburn, but not as the AD.

He was good here and he’s a fit here. He knows the need for getting a sure thing. He knows coach-hiring and he knows how to leverage program friends for REAL fund-raising - not just fleecing alumni.

He was also instrumental in hiring Leach because again…..we needed a sure thing. He knew Helton would be at worst, decent. Much better than Lenny for sure.

We 17ed up. But maybe we can get him again in a few years. Cohen knows he needs him, that’s why he’s at Auburn.

Sometimes simple is best, rather than rolling dice.
