"We called the wrong play, we'll work to fix that moving forward"

How hard is it to say that? Why not just say "we should have had TA hand it off to run clock. We made the wrong play call. Our bad." Pretty simple. Seems that would be a lot better than basically saying "Hey, we called this and our QB screwed up"

Get in touch with reality. This loss just like the BYU game can be directly aim at the space between Mike Riley's ears. TWO passes call on the last two plays. Run the ball and the game is just about OVER!

The problems is these "wrong plays" are becoming to frequent just 5 games in for a coach with 30 some years experience.

You have a third year starting qb and you call a running play for hm. Such a call should be safer than a handoff. But the guy decides to audible. Maybe he had been hit too many times and his judgment was affected.

The pass to our coaching staff is like heroin to a junkie. Our coaching staff starts breaking out in a cold sweat if we run the ball more than 2 times in a row.

Pelini did the same. His distain for the media prevented him from explaining things like Riley does though, so Pelini would have said, "We didn't execute".
