I guess they had to play it up to keep viewers.Announcers talked like they just beat an nfl team
That’s because the play-by-play guy comes off as a coke headAnnouncers talked like they just beat an nfl team
And don’t forget about how great oxfart is and that the fans at the Vaught broke the record for most people in a Santa hat at one place!!!Announcers talked like they just beat an nfl team
Based on the current selection criteria, Tulane and JMU absolutely deserved to be in the playoffs. Tulane and JMU aren't making a very good case for keeping that criteria intact, however.Stop blaming Tulane. Conference championships are what’s 17ing up the playoff. Tulane should be playing Oregon and Notre Dame Ole Miss.
Other records broken at vaught, but not mentioned: most people in loafers without socks, most bowties, most grown men in short pastel shorts and most people in one place with completely fabricated pedigrees. And don’t forget about how great oxfart is and that the fans at the Vaught broke the record for most people in a Santa hat at one place!!!
They did and they did just like always.I guess they had to play it up to keep viewers.
They sort of overdid the OM suck-up tho.
They were SOL with me as I never turned it on. Didn’t watch the Oregon/JMU either. Waste of my time.I guess they had to play it up to keep viewers.

Technically it is but you left out his second sentence. I guarantee that criteria will be tweaked next year where it doesn’t happen again.
How so? The current system says the highest rated G5 team team gets an automatic bid (Tulane). The Sun Belt champ (JMU) was ranked higher than the ACC champ. I'm not saying that I agree with the current selection process, but that's the way the football currently bounces.

I was focusing on the word “deserved.” The process is flawed. JMU and Tulane were pathetic, and, again, like them or not, Notre Dame’s exclusion was egregious and more than likely TV viewership suffered for it.How so? My money would be like….Tulane record in last 16 games vs SEC is 0-16. So yeah. We could beat them.
Weren't we the last SEC team they beat?My money would be like….

Fair enough. It just seemed you ignored the disclaimer I began with, "Based on the current selection criteria."Agreed

I “cooked” up a “hot take”Fair enough. It just seemed you ignored the disclaimer I began with, "Based on the current selection criteria."
I'm with you on this one. The "rules" have been out there from the start and those rules (now seemingly "stupid" or not) came about as part of the compromises I assume were needed to even get the thing off the ground. Now that just about the entire FBS structure has been turned upside down since the original agreement/contract was put in place and we've seen things play out (some predictably) I have no doubt it'll be changed. Guessing a whole lot of people won't like that either. How so? The current system says the highest rated G5 team team gets an automatic bid (Tulane). Tulane should have been prepping for their bowl gameStop blaming Tulane. Conference championships are what’s 17ing up the playoff. Tulane should be playing Oregon and Notre Dame Ole Miss.
Glad you used "could", seems one of our roles in college sports is to provide the first, the most/largest, in history/program history, career high, etc. I kid but it's amazing the number of times that's a post game talking point. Obviously more sensitive to it with us but we sure have an uncanny ability to provide such.Tulane record in last 16 games vs SEC is 0-16. So yeah. We could beat them.
Of course NDs exclusion was egregious, basically corruption over broadcast rights, espn shouldn’t own the sec, ACC and 60% of the big 12. ND was punished for having a broadcast deal with nbc.Agreed

My sense is in about 6-8 weeks, changes in the criteria will be changed based on this year’s travesty. G5 and P4 don’t belong in the same playoff system. This year's inclusion will be shortly celebrated by the longshot hopefuls.
