We can forget about going to a regional in Hattiesburg.

USM's #2 and #3 pitchers are academically ineligible for the post season. I don't see them winning a few games in the CUSA tourney now to lock up a regional spot. Whichever #1 seed gets them in their regional will be feeling really good about their chances.

whoever the academic adviser is for the baseball team may need to answer a few questions. In the end it is the player's responsibility, but programs have people hired to make sure this doesn't happen.

I've heard nothing of this and I have connections to that program. I think this is BS, becauseGeoffreyThomas istheir#2 and last I knew he was a good student and comes from a family that really stresses education (mom and dad both have very well respected degrees and careers). In fact, I believe the Astros offered him a pretty nice signing bonus for a 12th round pick and he turned it down for an education. How about a link to back up those claims?

I can't help your connections suck.

And like I said earlier the team found out not too long ago, so I don't think it has been reported yet.

Why would I get on here and make something about Southern Miss of all schools?

Haven't talked to my connections today, but I do know that up until this point, Geoffrey Thomas has made good grades. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

No idea, but from the rumor as posted, it's not completely clear exactly who is supposed to be suspended.</p>

USM along with all of the other teams are already up in Pearl today practicing.

Why would these guys be suspended for post season, but not last week. The semester has been over for 2 weeks.

This guy has details and sounds like he knows exactly what the $**% he's talking about. I figured some USM retards would pipe in, but everyone else calling ******** is probably about to eat crow.

Are we not encouraging awesome and off the wall rumors anymore?

Its like if you have a difficult and challenging major or you did well in high school then that automatically translates into college?

********.

can do is report absences and other unacceptable behavior to the coaches. It's not the advisor's fault if there aren't any consequences.

...the timing isn't right. USM's last exams for the spring semester were on the 7th. Now if Requiem had posted that prior to the Rice series, then that would be something to ponder.

Edit to add, actually the 13th... (misread info)

weeks or so. He acted like they were going to try to switch their major to Inter Disciplinary Studies so the bad grades won't count against their major.I am not sure how all the academic stuff works. He acted like they were going to appeal or try to work some of the classes around like I listed above in the posts above. I know today he texted me and told me the information about the classes. He said they would know for sure later today, but currently Thomas and Thompson are not with them in Pearl.

Obviously, the best scenario would be for USM to have a good weekend this weekend in spite of not having these starters, so that they still earn the host spot but then end up one of the weakest hosts in the tournament with starters sitting on the bench.

but if you change your major over to IDS then some will. I think that is what they are trying to do. It doesn't matter to me if you do not believe me. You are obviously an Eagle fan, get on the phone with your USM connections and see what they say.

Grades don't get posted and checked immediately. Exams ended on May 12 and the Rice series was from May 19-21. That's only one week after exams ended, not two. I don't think it's unreasonable that it would take a week to get someone suspended based on academic performance. Especially when the series was for the CUSA title and USM had every motivation in the world to drag their feet on it.

which for the spring semesteris May 16 (the Monday before the Rice series).

As it turns out, it appears that my gut feeling is wrong. And if that's the case, so be it. What I'm now wondering why didn't USM suspend the pitchers before the Rice series?
