with 2 out of 3, or we could let them right back in the race. Huge weekend series. Their schedule softens up some in the last month of the regular season though.

They have remaining:

Arkansas (in BR)
@ OM
Tenn (in BR)
@ A&M
Alabama (in BR)
@ Auburn

If we can pull down 2 the next two weekends, the LSU @ OM series would eliminate one of them.

Yep -- just like we hadn't taken a series from Arkansas in 5 years, Vandy hadn't lost a series period in a year and a half, and we hadn't won a series @Georgia since 1997.

"Recent history" = last year. That's how long we've been fully rebuilt. What happened before then is immaterial.

We have been swept in Baton Rouge just once in the last 10 trips. Our record at LSU during that time period is 12-17. The series record is for 3-6-1. This goes back to '94. Considering some of the great teams that LSU has had compared to our teams over the last 20 years, I'd say we do pretty well in Baton Rouge and we should be optimistic playing there. I would say we have a 90% chance of winning at least 1 and 50/50 chance of winning the series.

They really don't hope they're wrong. I think they really hope they're right, so they can come back and tell everyone they were right. Otherwise, why even post it? Just keep it to yourself.

Are you suggesting that fan optimism is going to somehow negatively influence the outcome of the series? Otherwise I am a bit mystified as to why I shouldn't be optimistic. I hope you don't share your advise with our team!

Looking back at our last couple of trips to the box, and where both teams are right now, I think we have cause to be optimistic not that we really need a reason.
