Go ask an LSU fan who their biggest rival is. If they’re under 65 most will say Alabama. Mississippi a distant 2nd. Arkansas is just another game. But he’s kind of right that we really only have 1 rival while many SEC schools have 2 or 3.

He’s as full of **** as a Thanksgiving Turkey right before the egg bowl, and he knows he is. Ole Miss and LSU aren’t even in the same football universe. Him saying so is like a 75 year old with ED buying his first Corvette. It makes it feel like he can still satisfy that 20 year old.

I don’t even dispute that Ole Miss and LSU are rivals. They play every year (and have for a long time) and play for a trophy. Good enough for me.

But Ole Miss fans just lie to themselves when they say State and Ole Miss aren’t rivals. Apparently McCready is not an Ole Miss fan (just an alum who chooses to live in Oxford and cover their sports teams), so he is clearly just pandering to his audience.

The "league almost certainly covets an LSU-Texas annual meeting".

They coveted it so much that they have LSU playing Oklahoma for the first two years post expansion. LSU and Texas have played each other only 18 times (2 being in the Cotton Bowl) in 125+ years of the sport. LSU had played A&M 46 times BEFORE A&M joined the SEC in 2012.

There's only one thing you need to know about TX-LSU games. Texas is LSU's Superbowl, and it doesn't go the other way (see Texas-Arkansas rivalry). They should rename the Battle for the Golden Boot, the "Horns Down Bowl".

Neal recently said he wished Ole Miss would play LSU on Rivalry Weekend and move State-OM to September.
Yesterday, I was listening to the Locked On SEC podcast and the LSU podcaster said “LSU doesn’t really have any rivals” lol. He and the Bama Podcaster both hoped they get State as a permanent opponent.

Now that the SEC is mandating 3 permanent opponents Bama and LSU are acting like State is a cherished rivalry. 17 them. State spent the 50s and 60s playing them on the road every year, while they ducked the top teams like UGa and Tennessee.

I'd say Alabama is a rival, although they might not consider us one. Does it have to go both ways?

I believe announcers also say Kentucky is a rival when we play them, but I never thought so.

Wow, this is a new low for this little guy. Using LSU as his example? They don’t consider the pigs or sharts rivals. And State/Sharts is literally the most hate-filled rivalry in P5 outside of the Alabama schools.

And we own the rights to their athletics programs overall. Maybe that was his angle??

Bama is not a rival. We’re not even in their top 4. And while there was some real dislike between us & Kentucky for a while , they’re nowhere near being a rival.

We used to have more of a rivalry with Alabama before the Saban era. I used to think there was big potential for a decent rivalry with Auburn and Arkansas.

All of a sudden a lot of them want us as their “rival”. Closest SEC schools, the school they’ve played the most, etc. They should just admit they want us for the win they will probably have.

I don't believe LSU views Ole Miss as a rival. They look at them with distained. They think they are a bunch of cock suckers and they like beating them down. It like being at a picnic and the fly that keep landing on the potato salad and keeps coming back after you swat it away. Ole MIss is the fly.

I view KY as a rivaly. What make ole miss so troubling is we have to live in the same neighborhood and work at the same job as those cock suckers.

I remember when someone was on here championing him as a good guy that was semi unbiased the other day on here. He is worse than Yancy because he pretends to not like Ole Miss. At least Yancy will admit what he is.
