We don't wear teams down.

We don't win the 4th quarter.

I don't see a sense of ownership.

You must be dominant from the neck up before you can be dominate from the neck down...

Tough to change a culture in a week... Its not tough to raise the expectations of yourself and everyone you surround yourself with.

I take an extreme amount of pride in our football program and our state...

In my opinion... Starts up top.

I don't care if they have a chip on their shoulder or not, I just want them to play like a bunch of confident junkyard dogs...

Maybe they need someone who's had a few things on his shoulder to motivate them:

We have an o-line coach I really supported as he was hired; but it appears imo he has a stubborn flaw - He does not want too rotate players. He says a big gap in talent; by his imagination ( does he think he coaches the qb position - great if no TA this weekend, there is no experience ), doubt he is correct - and we have poor performance in 4th quarter and push at times.,, The lb coach believes in rotation big time; and he has the fewest players and very young guys; and not big uglies. Kids get tired and fresh players coming in take advantage. ugh on some of these coaches ; we have a chance to be great - but Riley has to demand improvement, wa are lagging the nation in some departments

Yea, but we are extremely nice! If there is a top 25 for congeniality, we are certainly a top 5 team.

I've said for awhile that we're way too nice of a team. I don't want to recruit criminals, but a few guys who at least know some criminals would be beneficial.

Was interesting to hear his take on what practice was like, but it would be better to gauge it during a more normal week and not when the team is kinda down. If practice was like that all the time, it's definitely a concern.

I believe that Jason Peter said that he visited practice during the week of practice for Northwestern. So the team shouldn't have been down since they'd just beaten Minnesota. I also thought that at least part of his practice comment was on how the coaches were conducting practice, or at least that they were letting it continue while looking so lackluster. He mentioned that a coach like Nick Saban probably wouldn't let practice continue with lackluster effort without doing something about it.

Yeah I listened to the Jason Peter audio last night. Pretty disheartening if true, and even more worrisome if that's how every practice is.

I for hope the switch comes on. If we lose this weekend there are zero excuses for players and coaches. I'd clean house and start over. This team should have no more than two losses. This season has been a joke.

It is all due to Pelini. Eradicating that cult will take a little time. The players don't play for the fans or the new coaches. Read jay foreman's article.

Here comes the sentiment about the team not playing with attitude, urgency, not fired up, etc.

The same was said about Osborne teams until they started winning championships. I don't think for a minute that this team and players don't have the will or desire to win. They simply aren't executing at a high level and that takes a proven system, a lot of repetition and a focus on details.

I can speak with a fact that some of the team's biggest losses in recent years came after the most fired up pre-game speeches that were supposed to bring that "chip" or fire. Wisconsin, UCLA to name a couple. At the end of the day, the fire can start a team off but it boils down to execution and that simply isn't here yet.

I am hopeful that it will come.

So it's Bo fault? A good coach would have stated to fix this issue day one. If we are still fight the battle we are done.

LMAO...I hear you and somewhat agree. We do need guys who have that edge about them. Some more guys with an "I dont give a f*%$" attitude on the field. The problem is when you have too many of these guys they tend not to know how to turn if off when they are off the field. When you have not enough of these guys you get guys who get their lunch money took and show up the next day and allow the same thing to happen.

Thats why I loved our mid 90s teams. Sure they had some nice guys out there. Some smart wholesome kids who lived the right way. BUT they also had some guys who wouldnt take **** from anybody. IMO there has got to be a blend and a mix of these personalities .

Thats why recruiting is so hard. You MUST have talent...no question. But you must have some attitude with it. As much **** as guys like Christian Peter gets on these boards Id take 4 Christian Peters on the DL all day everyday. As much maligned as Lawrence Phillips was and STILL is Id take a Lawrence Phillips in every recruiting class that i could get one in.

I guess for me I know its a fine line when you are signing these guys. You want to sign high character guys on your team. I just know what Ive seen work in the past and its a blend of both high character guys and tough "i dont give a s&%$" guys. For every Brooke Berringer Id take a couple LPs lol.

Best case you sign 25 Ameer Abdullah types but we know these guys are far and between. I like to see some more "nasty" from our guys as well.

I loved your comment about maybe not signing criminals but signing guys who KNOW some criminals lol. Id go a step further Id take some "connected" guys lol. Not necessarily "made" guys. Hows that ?

The ability to make different personalities gel into a team was Osborne's true gift. Alot of that was getting the right assistants - a mix of guys to deal with hell raisers as well as bible thumpers. That goes back to the Bobfather - he was a master of the same skill set, and Tom just improved on the proven formula. Bob didn't just hire guys like himself for a dang good reason.

We don't play with a chip on our shoulders, nor do we play with erections.

All the players should pop a handfull of Cialis pills and play the remainder of the games with raging, mega-huge boners.
