Good outing. Would have been better if he could have thrown a 1st pitch strike more often.

Got to get runners on for Renfroe there... Golden opportunity for a big inning right there about to be wasted...

ETA: Maybe not. Need Detz and Rea to pick us up right here...

Doesnt matter if he walked a dozen- they only got 2 runs...solid outing

We have to score
Engie say that's wrong. Even if we only score 1 it's not on the offense. Pollo would be to blame. Engie say.

Got to get 4 for your arms.

Your hypocrisy is hilarious...

You accuse everyone of doing it to you, but you are twisting what I say again, I see...

I simply said that our pitchers have been BEATING THEMSELVES, which you tried to blame on offense(nevermind the fact that I said there is PLENTY of blame to go around in ALL phases of our game 3 times in the same damn thread -- which you were obviously blind to after sticking to that one point -- now over multiple threads I see). Walking in all the runs the other team scores in a game that you lose by 1 is TEXTBOOK beating yourself on the hill. I don't give a damn if it's 10-9 or 3-2 -- as a pitcher, that's beating yourself.

But we've already established the fact that you think baseball is played against the other team, which makes the level at which I'm discussing it foreign to you. The game is a competition against yourself. Walking in runs to beat you is failure, whereas simply getting hit and beat may/may not be.

Had we forced UK to hit and they beat us by one 1 run, that's a successful game on the hill from our staff. Allowing them to beat us with the bat on their shoulder is a failure. I really don't know how much more clear I can be about this.

The difference between THIS game and the other one that we're referring to is that Pollo battled through and ended up giving us a pretty good outing overall. Mitchell didn't get an out.

See I am watching us play against Arkansas, not an inter squad game. You play the other team.

And the difference between this game and the other one is literally 2. 5-3=2. We gave up 3 runs vs KY, and have given up 5 so far this game. That's the difference. Our collective arms had a much better outing against KY. It doesn't matter if the starter goes 7 or 1. It's a 9 inning game. You have to compete in all 9.

You can't make it any more clear at this point that you never played the game. In an intersquad game, by your definition, you are still playing against the other players.

That is not how anyone approaches baseball at a high level. You are competing against yourself to try to be perfect -- the other team and other players are coincidental. Literally all you can control is your own perfection -- hence that's what you compete against. The cumulative total of guys doing this well is what makes a great team.

And if you ask Pollo after this game, he's going to tell you that he failed because of all the free runs he gave up with walks. He fought through it and competed though. That's the difference between he and Mitchell -- and what makes his outing respectable instead of abhorable like Mitchell's was.

Our bullpen was pretty good in that game other than the misuse of Holder again -- Never said otherwise.
