Offensive Linemen. Mullen has already used the CC word in press conferences today...who do you think he would go and get? There always are some really good prospects in our state system.

I'll be totally honest with you, I haven't kept up with CC football in MS for the past 5 or 6 years....so I have NO idea.

A good offense starts with those guys up front and it is going to take Mullen some time to develop that area. 2 to 3 years away from a New Years day bowl for sure.

That different coaching, schemes, etc. will help. Maybe the O-line that is there already could be a whole lot better with coaching and a different attitude instilled. What do you think?

There is some remaining talent there, but we are probably going to have to go the Juco route to get some real meat.

for all JUCO OL that have any interest whatsoever in State. Was pretty slim pickin's. Went back & modified the search for 'any school' and it didn't get much better. Seems like the Kang always found a few good ones in JUCO, maybe Mullen can, too.

JWS always had some great O-lines. Thats why he won. That and good RB's. Good ST teams. Hey, thats everything Croom did not have.

That guy we had last year is not working right now. He was highly thought of. Can not remember his name for some reason. Anyway he did a great job with our line.

He's an absolute idiot! We have had maybe one true tackle since he's been here (5 yrs). He reads the tabloids to decide whose a good prospect. Recruited nothing but guards.
We'll have to start over, since the spread offense requires guys that can move their feet and get in front of people.

sylvester didn't really recruit JUCO (CC). That's about to change REAL quick.

Mullen will find 3 or 4 JUCO OL who will help right away (like this spring), but the answer is in his other quotes today. He promised to visit EVERY HS in MS to find talent....and we would have an open door for all HS and JUCO programs. That's the 2 to 3 year plan. That was always my biggest complaint -- the former coaching staff did not recruit around the Jackson Metro area. There is talent everywhere, but they submitted our advantage to other programs.

Oh, by the way; Woody's territory was the Jackson Metro area. Including Madison, Canton, Ridgeland, Clinton, and Brandon. Guess the golf cart just couldn't get there.

We don't have many OL that could play for most SEC teams. Having said that, we will be better next year due to the experience they received this year, but mainly for the fact that they won't have to read the entire front 7 on D to determine what they are supposed to do on a play. Crxxms offense was so complicated the guys were paralyzed from having to think so damn much. Reading several articles on Mullen's offense, it seems to be pretty simple to run.

As far as O-line coach, I'd love to have Dunn from Auburn's past. He recruited the hell out of Miss. He already has relationships with Miss. high schools. Not to mention he's a hell of a OL coach. He did a great job when he was at OM as well.

2 deep should look something like this:

LT: Sherrod/Melichar
LG: Jenkins/A. Lawrence/Merritt
C: Brigone/Looney
RG: T. Smith/T. Hardy
RT: Saulsberry/Freeman

No immediate help on the way because we aren't signing any Juco OL this year. We have a chance to sign 3 or 4 good HS prospects, but they should all redshirt and are not likely to start for at least 2 years.

Last year was a combination of sub-par talent and coaching. Most of the blame is probably personnel, but our blocking schemes could definitely have been better. Lot of missed assignments. We have to hope for a great coach and improvment from the returning players.</p>

Man I can't believe I could not remember his name. Anyway, he is damn good and like i said he is not coaching anywhere. You could probably get him. He knows the MS area.
