Walked a run in early, two of the runs on the GS were walk/HBP, and the run in the 8th was put on by a walk

...our pitching is still a huge problem.

It'll change when Cohen has enough of the inconsistencies.

I remember when everyone said our rotation was going to be set for the next two years with CC Watson and Luke Bole joining Nick Routt. The first two have pitched 0 innings this year...<div>

</div><div>Speaking of CC... what's the latest on him? How's his recovery coming? Adding him to the mix next year could be huge for us.</div>

of making noise simply because they have pitchers that can at least keep them in game with few runs scored. The fact that over 90% of our victories this year came because we either scored 6 or more runs....or we squeaked out a low scoring victory over punchless Tennessee.

This team CANNOT win a game against average to good competition with just 5 runs. It is truly pathetic.

Add to that the fact that Cohen has shown his starters he has no confidence in any of them, errgo starting Mitchell today....and mixing up his rotation all season long. So how can they be confident if the see the coach has no confidence in them?

I digress to the question asked the other day. "How is this team in Hoover?" I say other teams out-stunk us.

I agree with your criticism of Butch. I'm not sold on him yet either...<div>
</div><div>If our staff this year had a healthy CC Watson and a healthy Ben Bracewell... we might be singing a different tune. But right now, we have no dominant pitcher other than Caleb Reed. No matter who else is in the game, I'm rather uneasy.</div><div>

Seeing that 2 of the 3 series we won this year were against teams that didn't make the top 8, I tend to agree with you.

My goal for this year was just getting to Hoover. Looking at what we've got, that's going to be my goal next year too. I was hoping for more but I don't see it.

but I'm convinced he's not the solution. We have no consistency with any of our pitchers. As someone else said I have an uneasy feeling with any pitcher on our staff out there pitching except for Caleb Reed.

All I know is that he is rehabbing and is still in the early stages. I doubt he will pitch again until the spring, but the coaches seem optomistic that he will be back 100% next year.

Personally, I'm not that optomistic. I think he might end up like Ben Bracewell and have to redshirt a year and then come back, but we'll see. It's way too early for anyone to tell.
