2026 defensive lineman Kaleb Morris breaks down Mississippi State decision

Mississippi State entered the week seeking some momentum in the Class of 2026 with official visit season cranking up. On Saturday head coach Jeff Lebby and his staff got good news with the commitment of On3 three-star defensive lineman Kaleb Morris.
The Mary G. Montgomery (Ala.) High School standout announced his Bulldog decision after leaving his State official visit on Saturday. Morris is rated as the nation’s No. 80 defensive lineman and the state’s No. 30 prospect by On3 composite rankings.
Morris becomes the 9th commitment in State’s Class of 2026 and also held offers from Auburn, Kentucky, Oklahoma State, Georgia Tech, Houston and West Virginia among others.
“It felt like home,” Morris explained. “It was about the connection I had with the players, too, The coaches and players felt like family. I also feel like I could be developed the best at Mississippi State under Coach (David) Turner.”
Morris has taken multiple trips to Mississippi State this year and became more and more comfortable with his visit. Over the past couple of days, he got a more detailed look at his future surroundings.
“We got to tour the campus again,” the 6-foot-4 and 250-pound Morris recalled. “We got to walk on the field, go out with some of the players and meet with all of the coaches. We also got to eat at Coach (Jeff) Lebby’s house.”
As he noted, Morris also bonded with well with Mississippi State’s current players on the roster. That included one of his player hosts who is also an Alabama native.

“I hung out with their freshman running back Kolin Wilson a lot,” Morris added. “He is from Mobile so I bonded well with him and a few of their defensive players.”
Of course, Morris also got more knowledge from his talks with David Turner and his future on the defensive line at Mississippi State.
“We talked a lot of ball,” noted Morris. “Coach Turner told me how he could develop me to be the best player I could possibly be and that’s all I needed to hear coming from a coach that has produced so many top NFL defensive linemen.”
As a junior at Mary G. Montgomery High School, Morris totaled 62 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, five sacks, nine quarterback hurries and a pick six.
