Of having baseball players drafted in the first round, and that doesn't include our SS who made the US National team.

And every single one of those players made major strides from their freshman year to their junior year.

I think San Diego is a great place for Hunter to go. They aren't exactly a loaded team where he is going to be blocked, and he is already one of their top power hitting prospects as of now. I'm not sure that he will move through quickly because he is so raw, though.

Good points.

I was talking to a fellow SixPacker today about next year's team, and we were looking at our key contributors from this season and how most of them were not highly touted guys.....Pollo, Graveman, Ross M., Renfroe, etc.
Cohen and Butch are doing an INCREDIBLE job developing talent and getting the most out of everyone on the squad. Now think about the fact that just about EVERY single incoming freshman next season is a highly touted guy that was heavily recruited.....Cohen could potentially be building a damn monster in Starkville. If he can make a Super with Pollo and Graveman as Fri/Sat guys...the sky is the limit with the type of talent he is starting to bring in now.

I would really like to keep Butch for at least a few more years if possible though.

The longer Butch stays, the better our program will be. I'm excited about what he can do with Tatum; Sexton; Houston; Hudson; etc. We've got great players coming in all across the board. Reid Humphreys should make it, but I hope we can keep Dakota Hudson and Gavin Collins (really good defensive catcher with some power from California). We should really be cooking with fire in the next couple of years.

I can't begrudge a coach for leaving for greener pastures. I just hope he realizes that if he sticks around the pastures will be even greener. UGA is not a good post at all. I've lived in Athens. Their field is almost as much of a joke as their non-football fan support. With the HOPE Scholarship and the talent of GA HS baseball. They have every reason to be competitive, but these jackwagons I live among just don't give a ****. What a waste.

San Diego's starting rf tonight is will venable who is currently batting .221. If renfroe performs well in minors, he's not blocked by current mlb player anyway.

One thing that is in our favor as far as Butch is concerned is that he is a

local guy. He's from Amory and his parents and family are still in Monroe County. Of course, money talks so we shall.

I'm wondering if in the pros he stay at RF? I've heard a lot of organizations are high on seeing him at catcher.

That I don't know but I'd hate it if I was renfroe. Switching positions in the minors could make it a long trip through the minors
