"They just can't throw the ball," added Pat Patterson. "I had really decided around three weeks ago that I wanted to decommit (from MSU), but after going to the game Saturday, I came to a final decision. I am looking at some more schools now."

if we see a bunch of decommits, it makes the difficult decisions for Byrne easier.

It just takes time to get the system in.

We are in ONLY year 5. What do you expect?

That will sure throw all worry about keeping them when msu finally throws the bums out. This is just the beginning. Notice how he didn't say that any other visiting players tried to talk him out of it. On the other hand.. they were probably listening to him.

I was told here a couple weeks ago this would never happen.

Surely Steve will followup with a rebuttal.

Not surprising but it brings up the question of what made him commit to MSU in the first place? Through 3 games the overall passing game has actually looked better than last year. Granted last night was beyond bad, but it was better than the Liberty Bowl in the passing dept.

If I had to guess he was sold that we'd show improvements and watch we can do this year as we open it up or something along those lines. Like most of us, I think these recruits like Croom the person and want to see him succeed and want to believe he can succeed. But the product just isn't living up to the hype on the offensive side of the ball and opposing coaches have a ton of factual negative info to throw at these guys.

Losing Pat would be a big hit to the offensive class so we've got to start showing some signs of life on offense or else we're going to have our hands full holding onto to desperatly needed offensive talent.

'Atta boy McSrewvy thanks for playing the piano

as the sinking ship called The MSU Football Program plunges to oblivion!

to come to Miss. St., at least an offensive player. Garrett made a great decision to go to LSU, Pat just helped himself tremendously, and I'm sure others will follow. Until Crxxm and McCxrvey are gone, I don't expect it to get any better.

seems like just last night somebody was cussing me and calling me an idiot for saying offensive recruits would decommit....I think I could say the sun rises in the morning and many here would disagree just because I said it...

I'll go out on an obvious limb and predict he wont be the last one

I can't imagine why Pat isn't excited at the prospect of running ten routes a game, none of which are over ten yards. He must not have watched the same game I did because I saw a team that has mastered the short passing game and has a young OL full of NFL prospects to go along with our award winning staff and a rising star at QB. It is saying a lot when a recruit with offers from all over the SEC would rather play at a damn Conference USA school than play for Croom and his infallible character and coaching ability.

rants via email to Greg Byrne.

I hate to even say this, but his going to Ole Miss would really be helpful.

Offensive players - especially QBs and WRs - really like playing the spread. The offense is just fun to play.

I won't argue which is the best offense for college, high school, SEC vs CUSA, etc. because I really don't know. All I'm saying is that a lot of the young players love chunking the ball around and getting it in space with a chance to do something with it.

And I imagine that is influencing their decision about where they want to play in college.

and the reason I know is because I have a source in Huntsville who is fond of goats, and he told me many times that you can pretty much take it to the bank that commitments in August are firm. So obviously, this can't be true.

that falls into the same class as heck, darn, darn it, etc. It's what you say when you want to cuss, but you don't want your mom to slap you.
