We lose that game probably 8 out of the last 10 years under Stansbury.

That's what I said to myself at the end of the game. This team is good, and even in crappy games like that, we found a way to win. Bost and Hood are a dynamic tandem, and they really look good. I'm hoping this was us looking ahead to Detroit combined with the lull of the crowd that had the excitement of a methodist church service.

It's an odd game for us with an early tip off. Their point guard is really good. Hopefully we can pull it out.

We got into a tight game and almost found out how poor defense can cost you. Those other guys out hustled us and we are lucky to win.Better teams will expose this later this season.

beat you last year, won their conference and has a great coach? I think it was more that we were missing two starters including one of the best players in the country.

not worried at all. We were due a game where we struggled and this was it. Just have to win them.

He and Bost are our best 2 players but right now I'm not sure Moultrie isn't even more valuable. Besides his scoring he would have eliminated a lot of second chance points that FAU got tonight.

Moultrie would have made a tremendous difference tonight. But like most, I'm just glad we won because we have lost many like this in the past. Hood is going to be amazing...already is for a freshman

1. We had two guys, Sidney and Lewis, who should have been able to abuse any big on that team, we rarely exploited this. (no entry passes to speak of, especially later in the game)
1.1 We refuse EVER to pass the ball in to Lewis. He is only allowed putback dunks on the offensive end.
2. We should have plays set up for 6'+ Bost to post up a 5'4" guard. Never saw this once.
3. That little guy made Dee look like a punk with that inbounds pass off Dee's *** to himself for a layup. That shouldn't happen.
4. Stans calls timeout with us running with numbers? Only to design the patented give it to Dee with 5 seconds on the shot clock play.
5. Nice defense by Lewis, good game overall.
6. Without Hood's contribution, we loseforsure. He created a great deal of offense. He is so much better than Ravern. Wow. Props to Hood.
7. Moultrie was really missed. I hopehe getshis issues with eating doritos, or tendonitis or whatever resolved.
8. Deville Smith is officiallyRick's ***** this year. Just like Turner, Kodi,Tang, Big Feces, and a long line of others before him. He always seems to have one.
9. Shaun Smith played a bunch. Heseemed to try hard. Credit to him for hanging in there.

Hood has a sweet mid range shot that Tang Hamilton and Ravern Johnson can only dream about. We haven't had a player that can consistently drain a shot like that in a long, long time. He's going to be special.

They keep saying they want to see major schools giving a home game to a mid-major. We're giving them what they say they want.

he gives one good effort and gives up. And if the ball isn't right on him - he doesn't move and the ball goes out of bounds.

Not to hate on Sidney - he played a decent game but he is so much better as a compliment to Moultrie.

I love our lineup - I really do. I just wish we had one more big to help out.

Methodist church services are much more exciting than that....especially on Wednesday night singalong night. This crowd was more like a Prebsbyterian service, or maybe even a High Anglican Service.

I couldn't watch the game (don't have CSS), but I followed it on Gametracker. It looked like their 2 Guard (Pablo Bertone) carried 4 fouls from the middle of the second half all the way to the end of the game. My question is this. Did we try to drive the ball at him in an effort to foul him out?The dude finished with 14 points and 8 boards. Just curious.

But I am trying to think of a single strategic move that we ever make to take advantage of a specific weakness of an opposing team?

To add toinsightful comments from a prior thread: Courtney Fortson of Ark was another scrappy guard that whooped Dee's *** a few years back. It surprises me the little guy from Olemiss didn't do better against Dee the past few years, but that player was more finese though. Dee gets bothered when opposing players out-quick him or get physical with him.

Our success is dependent upon Dee, Hood, and Moultrie being able to "create" their own shot. Sid canIF we can get him the ball down low. Bryant is pretty good too. Steele can shoot if we get it to him and he is open. Those represent a lot of options for us and mask the fact that we don't really run an offense to speak of. Take out Moultrie and put a scrappy little guy on Dee to piss him off and you get what we saw last night, only Hood "creating" successfully. I am still amazed and overjoyed thatwe won. Hood is going to be freakishly good and his 12-18 ft shot should translate well in the NBA. Very impressive, played 40 min too.

We lose that game 4 out of the past 5 yrs under Coach Stansbury**

I don't care how good of a coach you are, if you don't have talent and team mates not being team mates no coach is going to win. That's the one thing that has been missing the past 7 seasons or so.

On a side note I really like watching Hood play. He is a old school player andis very fun to watch. I'd be very surprise if he is still around in two years. Also I like the way they are passing the ball around. They look like a Duke team rather then trying to look like a thug NBA team where they dribble down court and fire away to get into the high lite reels.
