He says he heard if from an Auburn staff member. Cowbell told me different, though.

It's more than just Auburn message board posts - they convinced him that not only will he start, but he will have 2 years with top level talent...they are having a great year recruiting (currently anywhere from 6-9 on all sites), and that pretty much sold him. I'm sure it's going to be tough telling Mullen....Auburn adding the spread, having great recruiters, and having the tradition, just was too much

as Newton would be gone before most of them become major contributors anyway. Seems like all that would matter would be what they have playing now for the next 2 years. I really think if Newton came here he would have at least as good of talent to work with as what Auburn has for the 2 years he would be here. In fact, the 2 things that made our record slightly worse than Auburn's this year was we had a tougher schedule and they had a better QB.

It isnt anywhere on the auburn scout board. Only posts about Newton are about him visiting. I doubt you are really that close with an Auburn staff member. And what recruit commits on the Friday night of their visit?

It has been confirmed that it is a hoax. They are laughing at us for going nuts. Please don't say anything bad about him, people will use that as ammo against us.

There are always people who "know" what's going on. One year a guy had the entirety of the bulldogblitz forms convinced we had gotten commitments from people like Jamere Holland when in fact we tanked big time that weekend. I'll wait for official news.

I think that was his name. He had us eating out of the palm of his hand for a month.

Rob had kinda left the board for dead. All types of speculation that laid a turd on signing day. I gave up the site after that. It was amazing that within a years time, that site went from the best to the worst.

and pretty much Yancy it. We were doing great with everyone, we had secret commits, private commits, under the table commits...

He could have said that Bo Jackson was going to sign with us and people would have believed it.

coach or something? Or was supposed to be? That is why he had his inside connections and all. Maybe I'm thinking of another person.

He was given a ration of **** and was never heard from again. I was always curious what he changed his user name to after that. I also thought it might of been mashtater 17'n with people. It was right around that time he appeared on the board.

Auburn`s recruiting rankings the last 4 years : 2009 - 19 , 2008 -20 , 2007 - 7 , 2006 - 10. Their worst year during that period is better than our best if you go by the rankings. There is a price you pay when you sell your program out to pull off a political based publicity stunt and we`re paying. The fact is that while we were sitting around watching Croom`s lazy *** add lard to his fat butt the folks at Auburn were working hard to get players. Newton and every other recruit has got to be sold on OUR future but the facts are that our recent past in recruiting or anything else football wise just doesn`t stack up well aginst Auburn and a numder of others for that matter.
