The NCAA is suggesting increasing the tournament field to 90 teams so we still have a chance of making the tournament . Next thing you know they will give everyone participation ribbons like they do in grade school%

For me, the number of teams in it is irrelevant. I’m still going to enjoy filling out brackets and watching it.

Maybe they should do away with conference tournaments and invite everyone. What a spectacle that would be!

Why keep track of the teams won loss record it wouldn’t matter if they go to 90 teams or more? Why even keep score of the games, why even have a championship game, just give everybody participation trophy’s and call it a day?

I've always thought of the conference Tournaments as part of the NCAA Tournament. Everyone in a conference that meets eligibility has the opportunity to win their conference and advance.

And do it with a blind draw in the entire 1st round..

I like how it is. Selection Sunday is my favorite sports-related event that doesn't involve a game being played. Expanding it too much will take away from taht drama. I do like the "First Four" as a gimmicky thing, I'm a sucker for cool gimmicks and I dig that. Leave as-is.

Expanding it puts even less emphasis on a regular season. They'd be taking .500 or near .500 teams. Might even take a sub .500 team who knows? They are already really reaching at 68. Just one more step to reduce fan interest for the regular season. If you are 16-14 you aren't super excited to be sneaking into a 90 team bracket. If you are a fan of a 2nd tier mid-major maybe you like this but it doesn't really move the needle that much. How many people are really going to care if Rhode Island or Utah St sneak in there for the 89th and 90th spots?

I'm also not sure extending the length of the NCAAT is good either. Never thought I'd say this but it might be too many games. Just increases chances of key players getting hurt and having that impact the end results.

Takes the shine off the Conference tournaments too. As of now a handful of teams play that conf tourney for the 64th-68th spots and that's kind of interesting but just can't see a shine if some under achieving team can win 1 game to secure that 89th spot.

$ ruins most things.
