A lot of ignorant haters on here as usual after a loss. Most people would've accepted 6 wins and a bowl game before the season so I don't understand the reasoning behind all the criticism. It's not like anyone here is saying 6 win seasons should be our ceiling. Getting to a bowl game this season is all about showing improvement in the football program. We have maybe the youngest team in the FBS and we've been using a backup QB recruited at the last second from a juco. Next season looks to be very promising and it should be the year Stoops future will be determined imo.

Last week's crowd impressed several recruits in attendance. Would really make sense to undo what we did last week.

6 wins and a bowl.

Stop moving the goal posts. As a CMS skeptic I will not change my previous expectations.

CMS has earned next year IMO, regardless of how awful the SEC has been.

Overcame loss of QB, awful start, revamped the defense, revamped the offense.

Complainers had zero evidence that this team would be able to do those things.

We will see what he and his staff are made of in 2017.

If we started 0-6, then teams forfeited the last 6, we'd be 6-6 with a bowl. Its nice to have a bowl because the extra practices, but expecting a competitive team isn't moving the goal posts. Being competitive was the first set of goal posts. Teams moved back to us and we beat some pretty bad football teams. We lost close to a mediocre-bad football team, we got curb stomped by 2 average but unexceptional teams, and we were spared the wrath of saban... I'm not saying be pissy about 6 wins and a bowl, but realize we fail the eye test, and for a lot of people, that was the goal post: get to a bowl, be competitive 11 times out of 12, look like a well coached group, be able to line up, be able to make tackles, and a complete pass for whatever happens against Bama. We missed those goal posts again. We look mediocre against bad teams, we look like we've never played the game in our lives against middling teams.

Yeah... I get it.

We also could have been competitive in all of our games and lost by a field goal each time...

Although I recognize the improved running game and defense, I cannot disagree that we still are not where I would like us to be on the field or with the coaching.

The bowl game was priority number one for me (although I thought that would mean we improved as much or more than the competition regressed).

Nonetheless, we are what we are and hopefully bring in a positive class and improve with the extra practices.

Thanks Blueworld_3.0. I believe we are headed in the right direction. We were one dropped pass from beating UGA; and we played UT a good game up until the fumble on the one and our defense was beaten up and tired. With improved QB play, the added depth from the RSs, and some really good recruits, we are going to continue the improvements we have seen over the past 8 games. If the fans show up in good numbers, nothing but good things are going to happen. That's my view and I sticking with it. Go Cats!!

Some people need to set their clocks back one year. I always believed it would be 2017 before we maxed out.
I believe 2018 to be even better.

OP cannot be serious. There is one in every crowd, but this is not a real UK fan. I hope not anyway. Only the blind couldn't see the progress this year. Go root for UofL OP, they seem much more in line with your lunacy.

I'm not seeing a lot of momentum against the top of the SEC. Basically we have beat up on the really crappy teams in conference this year and there are some unbelievably bad teams in what is regularly the best conf. in the country. Until our defense improves we won't challenge the Tennessee's of the SEC because of the talent gap. And UT is what I consider a 2nd tier SEC school currently (behind Bama and LSU). If you are OK with being at the top of the crap teams after nearly 5 years of the Stoops era then, I guess you're happy. Personally I am still not sold.

Doesn't really matter whether you accept them or not, they are a reality. Not accepting them just means you live in a fantasy world. I wish we were better, but there has to be some reality as to what kind of a program we are and how difficult it is to change that. The idea that there is some magical coach out there that will come in and make us one of the top few teams in the SEC in 3 years just isn't reality. It's fools gold, and if that is what it takes to satisfy you, then you will probably be dissatisfied the rest of the time you watch UK football. My opinion, for what it's worth, is that if this program ever gets built, it will be a slow and painful process. It will not be quick. It will look a lot like it looks now. That doesn't mean Stoops will be the one who does it, but I think the slow painful improvement you are seeing now will be how it is ultimately accomplished.
Yes there is and our AD passed on him four years ago. There are a couple of more out there, but I don't know when out AD will(if) pull the trigger

Fools Gold? Really, that would be if you think a program can be sustained running 65% of your offense out of the wildcat..

Hey, where are your seats?? I have friends who would like to move to a better view for the game. Need to let them know tomorrow. Section/Row/Seat numbers and they'll thank you forever!

Seriously, I have him on the phone now. If the seats are going to be empty anyway, you can help a fellow fan out!

Stay home next Saturday and show them we won't take this crap anymore.
Where does this even start to begin? I can understand being upset by the showing of our D. However, why not look at the players that we had get injured ? That was the very core of our defense, (such as it is)!!!!!

As a fan, one has to take a look at our LB and Safety play in this game! Edwards led our defensive effort, (or lack there-of), with 12 tackles!!! To me that is a very skewed stat! Just look at the opportunities that he had as a result of the defense's in-ability to "seal the edge"! Edwards either took a poor pursuit angle to the RB or he simply "whiffed" on the tackle attempt! This was the way I saw it in "real time"!!!!!! Our LB"s were non existent, once Jordan Jones was forced to leave the game due to "back spasms", we had NO semblance of a support system for our "challenged" DL!!!!!!!!!!

Again, in my view, the DS were handcuffed due to quality of the DL coupled with lack of anything resembling adequate replacements,(Depth-if you will)!!!!!

We need a full house next Saturday!! We need to keep the momentum. Go Cats!!

I don't see us having momentum at this time unless you call a painful loss to a down Georgia team at home with arguably our best fan turnout in several years and getting our asses handed to us (the final score was deceiving so please don't spin that) by UT for the umpteen millionth time. The rest of this season is pretty simple: demolish a horrible Austin Peay team to get that magical 6th win and then watch UL toy with us and name the score before the game even starts. Then we get the bowl game that seems to be a lot of fans Super Bowl even though it will be a bowl that nobody outside of the two teams playing even care about. The extra practices will certainly be beneficial so I guess that alone will help us prepare for next year.

Blueworld_3.0; I am not disagreeing with this. I did not say I was happy. I said we are headed in the right direction. I continually say that 6-6 is not a winning record. To get beyond this, we must continue to recruit, red shirt, and develop. Given that this was Gran's first year with us; and Stoops made some improvements with the defense (which didn't show up at UT!?); I believe we are headed in the right direction. We will be better next year as we will have more experience, more depth with some quality red shirts, a recruiting class that should contribute, and hopefully a healthy QB.

Thank you CHAMPCAT11; The UT loss was an embarrassing thing. It made me sick. The UGA game we had won and should have won. However, I will stick with my view that our program has some positive momentum. We will beat AP and I will go out on a limb and say we will give the Tards a good game. Beyond that, I am feeling good about the quality of the team we have coming back next year. - The red shirts that will be adding depth; the potential for a good recruiting class; and hopefully the return of our offensive coaches. I would like to see more improvements in our defense, which I thought was turning the corner before this past Saturday. Plus, I expect to see some better punting to go along with a much improved special teams play. If this is from me wearing blue tinted glasses, it is because I have been a fan since the late 50s and I am desperate for a consistent and quality SEC football team. Go Cats!!

Good post. I've been a UK fan of all sports for just about the same amount of time as you. I hope you're healthy and live a long life because it may be awhile before we become relevant in football. I'm a UK fan that's not nearly as pumped up about this season as some of the regular

CHAMPCAT11; Thank you for hoping that I'm healthy and live a long life. I hope that same for you. My real goal these days is to shoot my age in golf! However, I would give that up for a relevant football team. I sometimes wonder where the passion comes from that keeps me watching Cats football. We sure have had a lot of tough times. Go Cats!!

I played Saturday and shot 98. I have that same golf goal as you but UK has a better chance to win the NC in football before I shoot my age in golf. I guess my golf game's like UK football. I keep trying but I just ain't very good at it. Peace.

A golf teaching pro of mine says, "practice, practice, practice". Much like the football team. - There's always that one bad stroke, sort of like fumbling on the one! I keep hoping we are building good depth and discipline and we will start to win some of the bigger games. Go Cats!! PS. I missed my age by 9 strokes the other day. So there is hope. Sort of like our football team.
